I have an '06 Ss with about 3600 miles on it. Riding home from work last night I was coming to a stop and shifted from third to second and the shifter moved farther than it usually does and seemed to go right past second and into neutral. The shift lever got stuck in the down position and I had to lift up on it to return it to it's normal position and then everything worked fine. It did this one more time during the ride but after that I couldn't duplicate it and it has not happened since. Anyone else ever seen this or know what might be going on in there? |

Nope, never been down. I'm afraid if I take it into the dealer I'm just going to get the "we can't duplicate the problem" type of response while I'm stuck without it for a few days. |

I could be a burr or debris stuck inside the groove where the gear selector slides, causing it to jam occasionally. For peace of mind you might want to replace the trans oil and clean the magnetic drain plug. No, wait. That might cause you more stress knowing what collects on the magnet -- have the dealer do it. |

Also check primary chain tension and verify the integrity of the tensioner assembly as best you can; a dental mirror and flashlight are helpful. |
