Well i had an chance to get a couple free hours of dyno time on my bike. they needed a bike for a dyno demo/direct link demo and i jumped at the offer. craig from hellfire dyno was doing a dyno demo and rob from robs dyno(came recomended by AL) was doing the D.L. demo. my bike has the map for a jardine w/ the open air box kit. came from AL at American Sport Bike. the first run resulted in 94.3hp @ 6608rpm, & 84ft.lb torque.(only have a hard copy) of that run but the a/f/ ratio was pretty fat. tried to scan it as tif and jpeg but to big right now. maybe when i get home i can post as i have some edit software on my laptop.. after about 2-3 hours of time (keep in mind it was a "demo" and they were teaching each other some things) my hp went to 98.4 and torque went up to 86ft.lb's and it still really needs more time to get the a/f right. it is still pretty far off, but it is a good starting point. i need to get a set of headers so i can attach a bung to each side so the a/f ratio's can be read for each cylinder. but now i have a place to get it done. just thought i would share the information with you. i will be making an appointment to get it done correctly soon now. (will post results) anyone have a set of headers kicking around not in use? they don't need to be perty..

Hmmmm, so even though Al and them folks tuned the maps for a specific bike with a specific air/exhaust setup, it still needs tuning after? 94hp seems a bit low with a remapped ecm and those mods, can't remember what the shootout said for that combo but man 98hp seems closer... I was thinkin if I got a pipe and open airbox like one of the ones used in the shootout and got Al to remap my ecm then it'd be all good, am I wrong and do ya still need dyno work after? |

thanks brian! trying to get it right on w/ a little more tunning. Ride365 ------- there was no map for MY set-up when i got the map. the map i used was for a jardine with AL's open airbox combo. i have a F.A.S.T kit instead so they were not a perfect match, but it was the closest thing at that time. and i needed a starting point.i was also running dangerously lean at the time. to get technical even with a map designed for "your" set-up you could still benifit from dyno time as "not all bikes are the same". so some tunning could be done. is it actually worth it? probably not. would you feel any difference? again probably not. the map i was using let my bike run fine w/ my set-up. i needed to make a couple adjustments and Al walked me through it to help me get it so it was close. i will get some more dyno time soon as i get the bungs welded in my headers for the o2 sensors to read each cylinder and see where it goes from there. my fuel curve can still use a little tweaking as it is right now. but i am happy with the performance i get from it. the bike is already faster than i am. Oh kool, good to know! I don't know what the F.A.S.T system is, if you're bored and care to elaborate that'd be great... I'm in the middle of getting the finances together for a new '07 (my first Buell) and have been participating/studying the heck out of this forum for the past month or so to get as much knowledge as I can... Thanks man! |

the air filter on top is connected to a velosity stack and there is also a heat shield mat between the engine and the filter. the air box skin is optional. i like it nekid..

Kool! I notice you have the Diablo's on there, how ya like them tires compared to any others ya might have used? I saw they come stock now on the new '07 bikes... |

Personally I run the Diablo Corsas and I love them. They stick better than any street tire I've ever owned. They also tell me exactly what's going on where the rubber meets the road. The Pirelli profile seems particularly suited to the Buell's chassis. I've never heard a bad report on them by a Bueller. |

I also must agree w/ Brian. The Corsas are the way to go IMO. I currently run the Diablo's which are a little more "hard" compound ONLY so i can do more burnouts for my kids.(I can't say no to the little guys) Other than that i would run corsas all the time as my tire of choice. They make a HUGE difference in the way the bike handles and the feedback rec'd from the bike. |

I don't commute or slab my bike much so I can get away with the stickier tires too If you tend to square off your tires the corsas are not what you want. The regular diablos are also good, and if you drone the slab a lot the diablo stradas are getting good reviews. I used to run metzlers almost exclusively. I got hooked on them in the old me33/88 days when those were the best tires available (they were 18" too on the original gsxrs) Pirelli and metzler are owned by the same parent company, and use similar designs, but there are subtle differences in the compounds and internal design of the tires. |

the tires seem to only be good for about 6 good burnouts. then they get tossed/blow up. i like to play on the curvy stuff so when the tires look on there way out i kill them and get another. i don't risk my safety over bad tires. i have two more in the shed ready to go. i get them on ebay when the deal is there. these tires practically fall on the rims when changing tires out. kinda funny all the money they get to do them. |

thanks bud! i'll repost it there, or maybe wait for some more dyno time and post then. rob from robs dyno should get in touch with me some time this week to make an appointment. do you know where i could get the "bungs" so i can get him to hook up/screw in the 02 sensors for each cylinder? granger, or auto parts place or something similar? |
