Honestly, the only thing you can do right now that I would recommend is to set you preload setting to the softest setting. This in effect will allow the springs to compress more with your body weight on the bike. Really not much else can be done (without compromising safety) other than complete suspension reworking or a lower seat. The XB12Scg suspension components might work for you if you want to invest some $$$ to do it right. How much lower are you looking to go? Chris | ||

I'm assuming that you are talking about a wanting a lower seat height. Using scg shock, forks, kick stand, and lower triple clamp (for 05+ non scg bikes) will get you about an inch lower, maybe a little more. The low seat on the s models will also get you another inch or so. If you want lower than that you'll be looking at custom components. You can slide the forks up a little bit in the triples, but this will quicken steering and reduce trail if the rear is also not brought down an equal amount. There are adjustable ride height rear shocks available, but they aren't cheap, especially if you want to go one- off with a shorter length. Traxxion Dynamics can help you work out the details, but I know Penske, Elka, and Ohlins all make adjustable ride height rear shocks that will fit the Buells. Also be aware you may run into clearance, and lack of suspension travel (bottoming) problems with these mods, not to mention high centering on speed bumps, and crests of hills!
