Ive crashed my xb9s and want to change the rear to the firebolt. Is there anyone out there with info or pics or even a step by step guide to get me going. I have all the bits waiting but just need a little advice on where to put the electrics. Im new on here so Hi to everyone and take it easy out there. Lee |

There are plenty of people that have made this conversion, so just give them some time to see this topic and chime in. The simplest solution as far as the fuse/relay boxes and ECM goes involve tie-straps. LOL |

Welcome to badweb! Sorry to hear about your crash, but I'm sure someone will be able to help you make the tail swap on your bike. |

I'm getting ready to put an S tail on my R. Here are a few threads I found dealing with the swap (mostly R tail on S): http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/32777/57355.html http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/17143/152046.html?1132506642 http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/32777/181145.html I couldn't find a step-by-step, but there is some good info. |

<hijack> Hey Cereal, got any plans for that soon-to-be-unused R tail? (Assuming of course that you're not trading with the S-tail donor). </hijack> |

i would show you step by step but i don't want to take my bike apart again The ecm is mounted in the trunk of the firebolt tail...i did away with thetrunk insert and just attached the ecm to the undertail. EAsiest thing to do is pull the old tail off....bolt the new subframe on and start laying the wires in.... Its easiest to do the conversion once yo have all the pieces....There isn't a lot of room under the bodywork so it will take trial and error to get it to fit...Make sure you buy a rear brake resivoir for a firebolt...the stock S one doesn't work. If you want some pics i'll see what i can do...i just don't want to take the bike apart again Bob |
