I dropped the bike some time ago and it went rearward into a tyre barrier. This bent the rear subframe and caused the "+" of the battery to contact the frame... Now the battery gives about 3V and I tried to charge it a bit by connecting it to my car's battery. The voltage went to 9-10V after a few minutes, but then some time after I stopped the charging it was back at 3V. Could the battery be broken inside from either the impact or the short-circuit? Did anyone had to replace the battery after a mishap? Cheers, Olivier |

sounds like you have a couple shorted cells |

Shorted cells are caused by physical contact between the plates, usually caused by separator failure, heat distortion or vibration and shock. Open cells can be caused by loss of electrolyte, by vibration or shock damage which causes a break in the cell connector. These problems are seldom repairable. I suggest you get a new battery. |
