What do you folks think? Any point to doing any of that stuff and keeping the stock pipe? I won't ride a loud bike. |

cut airboxes do make your bike louder. Not sure if you'll see any gains running the stock exhaust. |

I wouldn't say it's a waste. First, you're def. going to see some added power with either an open airbox kit, or highly drilled out box. The KN/race filters flow way more air. Second, throw a spec ops heat barrier under it to help.(cheap and effective) Third, yes, opening the airbox gets you some intake growl...but it's nothing like a loud exhaust! Fourth, even if you did no mods at all, an ecm tuned on the dyno with direct link is going to pick up a couple ponies, but mostly just make the bike run a TON better. My bike is sooo smooth now. I'd say put in KN, barrier, whole saw out 95% of your inner box, and have it tuned on the dyno. You'll be happy! .02 TK |
