Anyone from here going? I plan on taking the Laverda Saturday for the vintage day then ridding the Buell there on Sunday for the show and shine.

I live in Kelowna, and, as mentioned, the easy route there for me is the 'famous' westside road - I dont work weekends, and my kids are off at their grandparents for the summer, so I might go up both days. (pinball, let me know if you're coming, and we can hook up for the run up westside road)

I havent seen anything on what events are going on, entry fees, rides, etc - any idea where I can get more info?

I'll try to make it there for Sunday afternoon, come in over Hwy 6 through Vernon, then head on to Kamloops for Sunday night.

kootenay - watch out for the deer on hwy 6!! the group I was riding with 2 weekends ago had to wait for the medevac chopper to lift out a pair of sportbike riders who encountered a white-tail in a blind corner!!

see you at O-Keefe. Sounds like darn near every Buell in central BC is going to turn up one way or another!!

Ulendo, ouch!

I've ridden that road several times already this year, as well as Duffy Lake, 31A to Kaslo, and even Westside Road! Deer, I'm used to (I live outside of Nelson, got whitetails and elk eating my garden on a regular basis...).

Still, I hadn't heard about that accident. Thanks for the heads up.

Bake, maybe I'll wait until I'm on the way back--looks like I might have to take a detour through Revelstoke, maybe Tuesday.

Hopefully see you guys Sunday! (I'll be riding the Buell with bags strapped on...).

I wouldnt recommend combing route 6 with your revelstoke trip the way I did ( lumby, east side mable, over the FSR to 3 valley gap) the CityX did it, but the KTMs, and BMW's I was running with looked at me like I was nuts....I can only imagine how an R would fare!!

No, I have to go to Kamloops for Monday, will hit Revelstoke on the return--just bomb down the #1, dodging the tractor-trailers...

I was attempting to make a funny!! the tractor trailers arent bad: thats what the Buell is built for. have you seen what the 3 valley gap to Mable east road looks like? (its a forestry services / logging road)

Yeah, the Buell has a diesel engine just like the big rigs!

I've never been further up the Mabel Lake road than the provincial park (and that was in my truck), but I understand it's a gravel road through to 3VG? Gonna have to do it some day (I've done the Grey Creek road many times--once in the dark--and flatted my truck tire once out past Adams Lake...).

'gavel road' would be a bit of an understatement. You really just wouldnt do it in a car ( at least not that weekend!), but something like my rover wouldnt even need low range. the mable lake end ( even the oiltop) is like a superhighway compared to the rest of it.

if you want to take a peek at the top end of it, the entrance at 3VG is the far end of the lake from the hotel. heading west, you go around the end of the lake on the sweeping right hander, and just at the top, on the LHS there's a forestry access - dont go too far in unless you're with someone who knows the way ( or have GOOD maps), as there are quite a few unmarked turnoff's, etc

My trailer fell off my truck at the 32vg end cattle guard, made for a long drive in!

I have spent a lot of time on those roads on my dirtbikes and sleds, awesome mountain trails off them.
