Thank you Cruisin for the kind words.  I sure do appreciate thoughtful discussion. I have a follow-up question: Can you say why you would not request your dear ones to pose lewdly in the nude for display on the internet? Obviously some folks do not share our aversion to making such a request.

I'll try to make the issue clearer. Contrary to your assertions, I'm not interested in playing any kind of moral policeman. I'm interested in upholding the integrity and rules of this web forum. I'm interested in maintaining a high standard for BadWeB with which I am comfortable and of which I can feel proud. Characterizing those with whom you disagree as "Mao" or "gestapo" is unfortunate and frankly at that point, I pretty much stop listening.
Again, (Angela please consider this), it is not that we ALL don't draw a line; it is where that line is drawn between acceptable and unacceptable that is at issue for us. Certainly you'd agree that depicting acts of pedophilia even if only via models/actors not actually engaging in the act would be unacceptable. Why? The same goes for horribly gruesome/grotesque depictions of atrocity and gore. Why do we draw a line there?

You say it is obvious, but others have no such compunctions. It isn't obvious to me what your reasoning might be for being averse to the supporting the aforementioned sex pic scenario(s). I'm sorry you are offended by that. Had hoped to carry on with thoughtful discussion. |

But I have not seen any pics with womens "junk" hanging out (unless someone deleted them before I saw them... damn) or anything that I would not have seen in a fashion mag or even on network tv. This is a cool thread that a lot of people have been filling up with a bunch of nonsense. I think it needs to stop. If this thread has offended any female then let me be the first to pose my fat arse on my bike in another thread and offend everybody. I'm sure you don't want to see that.
Let's just keep this thread to what the heading is "Hot Chicks on Buells"
It's just my opinion. I'm just a smallfry in the cool world of BadWeb.
On a side note there was something mentioned about the age of Buellers. One funny thing I've noticed is about half of my Harley friend's kids are telling them that they want a Buell and not a Harley after seeing my bike. I tell them "that's a smart kid you got there"

Blake, no problem. This site's always been one of my fav's and I recommend it to all (as seen by Nickle joining). It's the rules and moderators that help keep things running smooth(ish). I've met some of the best people here because of it.
To answer your question, I wouldn't ask anybody to pose nude for posting online. My answer might be different if I had better looking family...
It's all about the appreciation of the body...not necessarily as art, but just in general. It's the same reason I can comment to my wife about a beautiful woman we see.
So I guess my answer would be that I wouldn't mind taking pictures of mom, daughter, niece, etc...I just wouldn't initiate the process...
Call me a perv if you want, but I firmly feel that the body is a wonderful thing and if you're comfortable with yourself and want to share it, then great.
But there's a time and place for everything...nude is very different from scantily clad. The latter is okay in this thread, the former is not.
Now, enough of the semantics of whether we should/shouldn't post hot chicks. If you have pictures and feel okay posting them, then do. If you don't appreciate the pictures being posted (and the pictures still comply with the rules) then move on to another thread... |

I guess since there are so many different people on the board, using this thread only, as the example, you would have to draw a really clear line...something very concrete such as, absolutely no exposed genitals, or no exposed breasts. As far as poses, it would be a little more tricky, because each person's interpretation of what is deemed as a pornographic or otherwise sexually related poses, might be different.
Personally, I'm of the school of thought that, while I might not enjoy or be interested in looking at certain things, like gore and fake (FAKE) pedophilia, I really don't have issue with other's desire to view such things. I simply exercise my right as a free American citizen to not look.
I have seen much in my short life, good, bad and ugly...I feel amazingly priveledged to have had the opportunities to witness so many of the depths and widths that human beings take part in.
I don't know, Blake..maybe I'm too open-minded. I don't want to offend people, I try not to say mean and/or insulting things to people, especially people I no very very little about, outside of their posts. I find it truly beautiful that people share themselves, their stories, their pictures and even their loved ones here, with strangers...even if some of the pics and posts aren't preferred by everyone...it's a tiny little world we live in, why not get the biggest picture of it that one can. Life's too short to spend time judging and being judged...too too short...as motorcycling and Buelling brothers and sisters here, on this board... it'd be nice if we could treat each other as well as we possibly can.

To follow up my previous comment, years from now when my daughter is 18 I would have no problems asking her to pose on my Buell for posting...
It would be up to her to say yes or no...

Blake, I am not offended by anything you have said. I feel that you asking me what would be wrong about posting pictures of semi clad children amounts to trolling....Did I miss a post where somebody said kiddy porn was ok? Unless you can say that you removed pictures of children from this thread then it has nothing to do with this thread and yep, you are trolling and I'm not biting.
I gave a reasonable analogy to underage drinking, of age drinking and of age picture posting. I think my point is clear and don't feel the need to expound on underage anything....
Please stop dragging me back to that, I have no argument with you- you and your site are well appreciated by me.
My only points are:
1)I agree that pictures must meet your criteria for posting -and-
2)Adults who want to post pictures should, those who don't like them shouldn't look and certainly shouldn't post how those that do are inferior or perverted.
Anything else I posted was reactionary and I have no desire to take further part in those discussions! |

When I posted pictures of the Mrs. Bueller the other night, I did not think they were too much. Sure, I have taken some that are too much, but those are for my eyes. I do not remember her breasts being exposed, no money shots that I can remember. A couple with a small shot of the top half of her beautiful rear-end. Sorry if I caused problems here. I sure did not want to do that. I just thought my wife looked good on my Buell and figured I would post it. Please everyone just go ride or have some fun. For you I have a couple of comments.
1) nothing in this thread is close to network much less cable TV
2) some people don't have a problem with nudity (Europe and US nudists come to mind)
3) why are you bothering with explaining yourself? You have quoted the agreement. You have given warnings. Use the ban button. Use it on those that won't shut up about "their rights". My preference is the stuff Misato posts. Even better would be girls actually riding a Buell. |

All this she's someone's daughter crap is the lamest of all. Following that line, I can only assume you haven't engaged in pre-marital sex, that is someone's daughter; even more important, she's someone's future wife and mother! Reverse that for the men being ogled/banged by the women.
For all those sooooo opposed to the skimpy/no clothes pictures of adults, how many of you buy your underage daughters bikinis? Short shorts? Haulters? String haulters? Let them become cheerleaders?

Grimel and others who have raised the same issue. I've removed a number of pics that fell far short of honoring board policy.
What you do in your own privacy or among/with friends/family with consent is your own business and I'll fight to help defend your right to that freedom. As you said though, I have the extreme privilege of being able to set policy for our little gathering spot on the web. We chose long ago, eight years ago in fact, to make this little corner of the web a place where our families, children, employers would find nothing inappropriate. The older I get, the more I appreciate that decision. I promise, no amount of debate or arguing is going to change our policy here. So please, would everyone please just honor it? Good grief! |

If you have noticed I have neither posted any pictures nor complained about any pictures removed. It is YOUR house, thus YOUR rules. I'm just tired of you repeating the rules and repeating the party line - this is a FAMILY friendly board - then having people complain about it. More power to YOU. Keep it that way. I don't want you to change anything except maybe be a little quicker with the ban button for those who are obviously being jerks. I've seen several formally excellent boards become rather large disasters. |
