So I just made this 1000 mile trip to see my family on my brand new 12R and I just wanted to say that the stock seat SUCKS. My rear was so freakin' sore! The first thing I did when I got here was call the Buell dealers here (not very good ones at that) in the Salt Lake valley and asked them if they had the Firebolt Custom Seat. No luck there (big surprise). Then my dad called someone known to specialize in re-upholstering motorcycle seats. I went over to talk to the guy, who works out of his home, and he offered to fill it with gel and keep the factory seat cover(vinyl) or switch to leather. It seems like you can pretty much ask for whatever you want. He must do a good job because he has a Ferrari in his garage that he is doing for a customer. Turnaround was just one day. I LOVE this new seat! He originally was going to charge me $85 but when it was done he said $100, which I was more than ok with (when the Buell seat is $149 before tax and corbin is $350). Anyway, I just thought I'd pass this along. I'm sure he'd do your seat too if you mail it in. His name is Mike and his number is 801-580-7236. Here are a couple of pictures of my new seat:

I have the same thoughts in regards to the stock seat. After one long ride the seat had to be addressed, so went I with the Buell gel seat and have not regretted it. Having taken several 500 mile road trips since then, one of the best upgrades I have done. Keith |
