i just ordered a spec. ops fender eliminator for my xb9sx, and i was wondering how difficult it is to install as a do-it-yourself job? anyone have any experience with this? it looks like a fairly simple job, but is there anything specifically i should look out for? also, odie at spec. ops has been super cool to deal with. for $150 he chops it, paints it and mails it to my door - and THEN i mail him my stock section to minimize my down time. that rocks... |

It is an easy job. Just take your time. Odie's the best. |

thanks - i'm looking forward to installing my new, chopped fender! do you have any experience with the exhausts systems from odie? i read the review on am sportbike, and they were almost as complimentary as on the drummer pipe. if i get a new spec ops exhaust, should i still get the race ecm and the filter and the reset throttle positioning? or can i run it completely stock with the exhaust only? |

Hey there, Have both the tail and his exhaust. Like both very much. You can run the stock ecm...preferred because his retains the interactive valve inside. Just spend the money for a direct link usb key and/or have your stock ecm flashed for the mod. Might as well throw in an race filter and/or drill open your inner airbox. Those mods netted me almost 93rwhp and a super smooth ride. Tq curve is killer too. .02, TK |

the exhaust on the 12's is interactive, but i don't think it is on my 9. does that make a difference? i guess i'm trying to do this in incremental steps to try and save a little cash.... |

I plan to eliminate the cheese grater myself and I'm wondering if anyone makes a longer rear fender (C/F?) so that one doesn't get a stripe down one's back from stuff off the rear wheel? Say one that goes to about 10:00 or 2:00 depending on the side you are viewing from... |
