Anyone know if there are passenger grabrails made for the XBR? If not, anyone tried adapting any?
Thanks!
-Mike

I usually reccomend the use of the riders waist, or belt as the "grab rail".
It encourages the passenger to lean forward and lean with the rider. Grab
rails lead to passengers leaning back and sitting up in corners.

Both are bad habits for passengers and bad for rider control.

Actually, I'm just looking for something that will reasure my wife that she's not too far back, or going to fall off- she hangs on to me just fine! She likes the "sissy bar" on my Bro's Vulcan for that reason... The Ventura grab rail or small rack looks perfect
Thanks all!

look further, midknyte. The conversion bar for the ventura rack system means you need to also buy the rack system itself.

With the Ventura system you don't have to buy the whole rack system to have the grab rail, but you do have to buy the L brackets that are permanently fixed to the bike. You can then choose which grab rail/rack you want to fix to these brackets.
So for the grab rail you would need this:

and this:

that luggage system is sweet. It's almost got me convinced to switch over to hard bags from my faithful old tourmasters which have served me so well.

Whoa! Are my eyes deceiving me or is that big ol fender attached to the pasta strainer?

That looks like just the ticket for wet road riding!

it is attached to strainer. It is added for some countries so it passes regulations regarding guarding over the rear wheel.

They come with em in Australia but most remove em, its only a technicality if caught.

But to answer your question, NO still no more real wet weather protection. I am sure its a bit better but it doesnt cover the holes in strainer so it still comes thru there.

sorry to go off subject Rarebird.

Rarebird if you go ventura rack you should go the bage aswell then you got storage too and the rack is a lot higher.

I have an entire Ventura rack system for an R for sale. Rails, 2 racks (large and small), 45l bag, 35l bag, and small bag. It's a great system. If you buy the rails alone, they will cost you $115. I'll sell the entire system for $200 plus shipping.

Man, I wish I could Rubberdown! I just bought a tank and tailbag a few months back, and the budget just isn't there... As it is, the rails will probably be a Winter project, based on a Christmas gift.
