My check engine light is on again. 200 miles or so on th odometer. First time they said it was a loose connection to the fan. It seems like the same thing is happening. Anyone else haver a fan go on a 06 CityX?

Start with the simple stuff. Make sure all your fuses and relays are well seated.

Stain,

Your bike has the ability to tell you what the problem is and it is actually very simple to do. Do you have a factory repair manual? If yes, it has a section (I'm not at home and can't remember the number) that explains how to retrieve the trouble codes.

With the trouble code(s) in hand, the manual has a chart that will tell you exactly what is causing that code to appear.

Let me know if I can help.

Skully can you pull codes on an 04 XB12S also? I thought I read that you couldn't before 05 or 06. Thanks.

Sweet thanks for the tip Skully (RTFM). I saw something on getting codes online but it was for tubers and maybe earlier XBs.

Midknyte, That was the first thing I did.

Thanks again

Hello Staidus, are the problems you have similar to the ones I had? (see old message) It turned out to be bad isolation on a wire near the engine heads and not the tip-switch.

Skully can you pull codes on an 04 XB12S also?

As far as I know, all of the XBs are this way.

Bébèrt, I have not had it stall nor has the engine light flashed, it stays on solid. Its back at the dealer, I will let you know what happens. I am thinking the fan is faulty or possibly a short, no other electrical problems exist except for the fan not coming on. Im glad you got your problem figured out, I hope mine does too

Cheers

You have to jumper a couple of pins on the test port to get the light to flash the code
for you. Hopefully the dealer will get it sorted. If not we'll do our best to help!
