Im in the same boat. I just have not been able to get that last .5-1 inch of tread scrubbed on the street and I know I lean the crap outa my bike. Glad to hear it's fairly normal, but that is one thing I have told people. In comparison to other bikes Ive owned, I feel like I have to lean the Buell less to make the same turn.
I Rode the bike to work and our Corporate complex was paved about 6 months ago. It is a little race track for me and the tight turns have no access points so I tend to tear up a little in here on occasion.

Great vid glitch!! Hwy 60 looks like fun. Maybe I could hit it on the way to the gap sometime.
I have a 1/4 inch on right and nothing on the left. I seem to like left turns better.

I would ride up there all day long, well I do ride up there all day long, as often as I can.
I seem to like left turns better.
I wonder why that is.
You think it's because we ride on the right side of the road?

I like left turns better... even on dirt, well, especially on dirt. When I think about it while riding I think of the rear brake for some reason. |

I prefer left turns only for the reason that if I mess up, I go off the road into the opposing lane of traffic.
Other than that, I feel equally competant |

I'm happier with right turns, too. I think it's a learned thing, I kayak and in rolling you always tend to roll on your strong side, as opposed to your offside. My offside roll is to come up from left to right and it truly sucks. It must be a right handed vs. left handed thing. My onside roll sucks too, but it's reliable...They both look more like controlled drowning. |

I scrubbed the stock rear right to the edge, but left about a quarter inch on the front.
I've got about a sixteenth inch of stripe left on my rear Diablo, but about 3/8" on the front. My fronts seem to wear a bit strangely, too--the rear tires wear most in the center and gradually less the closer to the edge, but the fronts wear well in the center and edges but wear the most in strips about 1/4 way around to either side...
I feel as comfortable turning one way as the other at speed, but at slow speeds I prefer turning to the left for some reason.
Oh, and Kdan, (sorry for the thread hijack, folks)--you gotta get out of the idea of a strong side/weak side in your roll. Get into rodeo--you'll soon learn to roll from any position, front deck or back deck, to either side, without even setting up! Hand rolling is worth learning, too--your paddle rolls will improve immensely! |

One of my favorite rides is Route 60. But my Route 60 goes from White Sulfur Springs, WV to Gaully Bridge, WV. WV Route 60 is a great ride and you'll pass Hico Buell/HD if you need anything.
There is one section near Hawk's Nest State Park that is very challenging. A series of tight radius S-turns with steep chambers that leave you wondering where up is.
Route 60 can be found by following I-81 to the I-64 junction and you will see Route 60 |

It's tuff to ride that hard on the street and be safe.
Changing the suspension settings to the recommended settings in the
manual makes a huge improvement in handling. It’s a good place to start.
You should be using both the front and rear tire comparatively equal.

What exhausts am I hearing in that Vid?
The M2-S1-XB tuber has a Vance and Hines I believe.
The XB12R has an old style XB9 Buell Race can.
The XB9S (mine, black helmet) has an old style XB9 Buell Race can.
The other XB9S (Black_sunshine, grey helmet) has an old style Drummer with the Fatlet.
It's tuff to ride that hard on the street and be safe.
Not too tough, as long as you've got look-outs watching everything, and you're runnin early in the morning. I know it's not kosher, but a hooligan is, as a hooligan does. |
