Hello all,

I need some tech advise. I am in the process of removing my primary cover on my 03 XB9S. I am at the point where I should be able to just pull it off, WRONG. The cover is seriously stuck on. I have pulled and pulled and even lightly tapped around it with a rubber mallet but to no avail. So does any one have any tricks? I could be a little more forceful but I figured I'd ask first. Don't want to scratch the paint. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanx Jason

Do you have the service manual?

Double check that you have removed all the bolts! I did the same thing the first time I pulled the cover. I left the one next to the primary adjuster bolt, and started tugging away until I realized what was going on. Then slide it off the shifter shaft gently. If it still dosnt come off then I would say make sure you have a manual like Tpoppa said, and make sure that you have removed the clutch adjuster and all the pieces that come with it. Good Luck!

Well I got it off. I do have the manual, and I did have the bolts out. It was just really stuck on there. Had to use a small bar to pry between the muffler mounting bracket and the bottom side of the cover, a small part sticks out on the bottom side I could pry off of. Didn't scratch any thing either.

Thanx
