Justin, get rid of the dunlops and head for pirelli scorpion syncs..they are beefy, good on wear and they stick to the road well. I'm sure there'll be other recommendations. |

If you corner a lot: Diablos: street Diablo Corsas: track You can't go wrong. If you don't corner much go with Cheng Shin or some killer re-treads. |

Metzeler M3's. Just FYI... You're going to get a number of different answers. For the most part people will say Metzeler M3, Pilot Power, Diablo Corsa. I personally would drop the Diablo as they are a step behind in technology compare to the Michelin or Metzeler. They are comparable (actually... the same tire w/ a different tread pattern) as the Metzeler M1. I would go with the M3. It's a GREAT tire. |

Not one to ever appear in the slightest bit opinionated, I might take the liberty of suggesting that you ignore all the advice above, and head directly for a pair of Dunlop Qualifiers. Yes, I said Dunlop. Dear old Dunny has finally gotten their Ultra Sport Tire act together, and every one, ( your present correspondent included) who has tried them thinks that they are simply the best. I have previously used Michelin Pilot Powers and Meztler M-1's. See tire tests in the December 2005 Sport Rider, and other mags if you disbelieve me. |

And then there's the Conti road attack thread below on this board... think I might try them when the Dunlops wear out. It depends on your riding I think. If you only hit the track, you need the absolute latest, if you commute a good compromise between grip and longevity might be better. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/32777/201797.html?1149140022 |

They do... The M3's feel the same, but add just a tad more grip and they don't overheat and get greasy as easily (not that the M1's had a weakness to heat at all, but the M3's are superb). |

I think I've already raved about the new Diablo Stradas a couple of times but I'll do it once more for the heck of it. THEY ARE AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I purchased them on a recommendation and I am sooo satisfied. My good friends, Aprilia Falco and 1000RR riders, have beat the crap out of these tires and after almost 9000 miles they are still showing tread. The thing I like best is when you get done with a ride you can touch the tire and it is super sticky like a race tire...very cool. The traction is amazing and the profile is made for the corners. Jak, You need to learn what beating the crap out of a tire really is. There is not a sport tire made I cant shred in 5,000 miles or less. That being said if you ain't doing track days the Road Attacks are all you can ride on the streets/canyons. They are also $200.00 delivered to the door. Most riders will rn out of skills before they run out of tire. Oh and it looks like I will go through two fronts to one rear. That has not happened with any other tire I have tried. The only drawback is that they ride a little harsh. I don't mind though as I feel one with the road more so than most tires I have tried. |

I can shred a set of M1's in about 1300 miles... I don't even work them that hard. I'm thinking I'll get 1800 outta the M3's, but I don't know yet. That said... Once I finally got my setup nice and balanced I started getting about 2200 out of the M1's, so I may get 2500 or so from the M3's. (Message edited by M1Combat on June 01, 2006) |

Skyguy- First off, F%$# OFF! While you may think you're a big swinging dick, you don't ride with me and you don't know how I ride. Second, the friends I was referring to ride hard on the street. We recently rode almost 600 miles of AR mountain valley backroads, 35-45 mph posted speed limit avg, during the course of one Saturday with a few stops for gas and water. 180 degree switchbacks and all. You can work out the math. Your welcome to attend if you ever make it here. Second, while we do ride hard on the street, we are not stupid and realize that public roads are not the same as a closed course. That being said, I will never ride 10/10th on the street because I'm not willing to risk my life for ego's sake. And lastly, I think you should actually buy a set of Stradas and burn through them on the street before you make a comment like you did. Have a wonderful evening... Kilgore |

Jak, I had the stradas on my F4. They did not go any further than most of the tires I have run. Sorry to have offended your obviously larger swinging dick................ Damm is something in the water lately? Must be the damm chemtrails. |

so are the m1s just more "racey" than the m3s? i was gonna get m1 cuz i thought that was the tire to get, but i just ride on the street, so would m3s be the way to go? i just want a good sticky tire and the m1s or 3s i hear alot about, who makes the road attacks? |

Pupu (nothing personal but everytime I see that handle I think of feces) Continental makes the Road Attacks. If budget is not a concern the Sport Attacks are the way to go. Supposed to last almost as long and be a very track capable tire. I was going through tires every 2,000 miles so took a chance on the Road Attacks and so far have been very happy with them. |

The M3's replace the M1's as Metzeler's premier "street" sport tire. They are comparable to Dunlop Qualifiers and Michelin Pilot Sports. To go with a more "racey" tire you would want a Metzeler Rennsport, Michelin Pilot Race... I don't remember what Dunlop calls their DOT race tires. |

Dunlop makes two DOT tires that are "racier" than the Qualifiers. Street/Track: D208 GP JLB DOT race tire: Sportmax GP |

I've been riding the Dunlop GP Racer tires for the last 3500km, both on street and on the Nuerburgring racetrack in Germany (just 100km away from where I live, Luxembourg that is). Obviously grip of those rubbers is enormous especially when cornering, allowing you to kneedrag just by sticking out your knee slightly in a bend, just as shown below: http://republika.pl/dungood/images/Kneedrag1.JPG Also by definition, they rear is gone now and I am switching to Qualifiers to get a bit more mileage. I will be competing using qualifiers next weekend, on Tor Poznan in Poland, will let you know how those tires performed. http://www.aw.poznan.pl/tor/vfull.jpg |
