Just got back from a ride in the twisties out in the Uwharrie national forest and on the way home I was running 110mph to catch my buddies on the four lane. I have had my bike up to 120mph before, fighting a headwind but have still not truly topped it out. I hear 130mph is the max on this model. |

yes, my 9sx with a DnD race ecm and KnN it 137 with a very tight tuck, i am 5'8" 125lbs. so i imagine that is as fast as it gets. i can actually out run my friends stock 12r, hes about 125lbs heavier than me though.... Life is a comedy to those that think and a tragedy to those who feel.

i am thinking of converting my front into a r style fairing.....i imagine that may be good for a few more MPH, specially since it will be black....black is the fastest of all buells..... Life is a comedy to those that think and a tragedy to those who feel.

TopGun, What kind of Mods do you have? Are you running stock gearing? I've got a 12 and I'm bouncing off the rev limiter at around 134. |

04 XB12R..... No mods (stock) top speed just about 145mph. I got taken by my buddy who has a RoadKing with major motor work, he does wheelies on this thing. His speedo only reads up to 120mph, so he wanted to see just how fast he could actually go. We go down into the Everglades and run wide open for a few miles. Now he did get a rolling lead on me, I was about 1-2 bikes behind him as I was bouncing off redline. He almost sh*t when I told him I was 145mph and he was ahead of me. |

145 -147 is all i got out of it and the tuck was tight and the speed was high felt like free falling sooo I slowed way down but the bike was eerily stable and quiet in stock form . A guy approached me at a reststop and asked how fast I was going?, I gave him that that(" if your a cop look that one gives when asked do you know how fast you were going? ") I paused for a second looked him up and down slightly closed my right eye and said about 130 he paused and said" man you were moving " "That thing is quiet, you went by and it was like whoosh I was expecting to hear all kinds of noise but nothing quiet"suffice it to say I won't be doing that speed any more cause again it felt like free falling you cant control the variables in a free fall nor can you at high speeds. no excuse I'm a combat vet and saw combat in a myriad of places I've risked my life for many reasons but not one time was for me so I exercised my demons and feel that track day is a better forum for my outlets. Be a safe rider and wear gear that was made to protect you no matter the cost cause the life you save by doing that may be your own. |
