Disassembled my front fork today for oil and dust seal replacement. When i saw that my left rebound adjuster assembly were sticking up 11mm more than my right one. Weird was my first thought.. or should it be like this?? Anyway. This causes my left slider fork to be 11mm longer than my right one which causes trouble when mounting the front tire.. I could adjust this by mixing with the Damper locknut and rebound adjuster assembly(rising/lovering) so that the damper rod assembly align with each other.. But that would cause my suspension adjusters to be all wrong.. Anyone who knows what's wrong or what to do? Really thankful for help and thoughts!/Anton |

You've done something wrong for sure. Did you ensure that the lock nuts on the damper rod were equal distance from the top before assembling the fork cap? Did you preset the rebound adjuster before reassembling? I know that the factory manual doesn't address this but it's essential if you want both left and right to operate the same. There is an excellent piece on the Traxxion website that you might want to review: www.traxxion.com/technical.forkspr.install.shtml |

The lock nuts on the damper rods are at the same level on the damper rod assembly, and i have "preset?" the rebound adjuster. But the problem is that when the damper rod assembly is bottomed or fully pulled out, the out-sticking length differs. I attach a picture with the damper rod assembly fully bottomed.. that will maybe explain my problem better.. I cant see what's causing my problem.. I have the service manual and I still don't get it. Is it possible to remove the center bolt placed underneath the fork legs? Mine seems to be locked or fixed with something?, Locktite? sprint? Super thanks for all help!

There is a centering "Cup" that centers the long valve/damper assembly. It is about 10-11 mm high, if the valve assm is sitting on top of, but not down in the centering cup, that could be your problem. Maybe the centering cup is upside down? Did you take out the 5/16' allen bolt from the bottom of the fork to remove the slider? P.S., not sure where you town is located, but my brother lives in Stockholm (Message edited by Toona on May 29, 2006) |

Yes I had the same thought with the centering plate.. I've tried to remove the so called "center bolt" at the bottom, but it won't budge. I'd even broke a tool trying to remove it yesterday. Is it left handed thread or some sort of sprint on it? Removed the Front fork compression damping adjuster thinking thinking it had anything to do with it but it didn't help.. Oh Yeah, I live in a town 45min from sthlm called Strängnäs.. Thnx for the suggestions! keep helpin' me please!%) |

Tjenare Bulten I work at Probike Täby and I'll be at work tomorrow. I can fax you copies of the pages in the service manual and the "sprängskiss- vad nu det heter på engelska" MVH Björn |

I used an air impact gun to gun to get mine loose. It is a right hand thread. BTW, in the service manual it shows the lower plastic ring that centers the steel sleeve below the spring, in the parts manual it shows it correctly above the spring, atleast in my '04 service manual and '04 parts manual (Message edited by Toona on May 29, 2006) |
