I took a spin on a new '06 Speed Triple a few days ago and can't seem to get it out of my head. I rode my XB9S to the dealer for the demo ride. I rode away on my XB thinking, That Speed Triple ROCKS!...but I really love my XB. So, why not have both? |

Why not. If you've got the change then go for it.

Just because the Buell is the coolest, it doesn't mean that there are not other somewhat cool bikes that one shouldn't mind owning. Seriously, I think the Speed Triple is cool and if I had the cash I might get one as well as my XB. I would also get a Duc, and a MV Agusta, and a KTM Super Duke and ... |

My advise? Get as many bikes as you can, as soon as you can. Ride ... rinse ... repeat ...

I like both bikes a lot also, but I would not own both at the same time. If I was going to own a second bike I would want them to be far more different than the XB and the Triple. Just my .02, but I would want to have a Motard, Cruiser or an all out race replica bike to go with my XB. I just couldn't justify the extra change on another streetfighter style naked bike when I have one sitting in the garage anyway. |

I almost bought one but not riding for a few years I thought Buell would be much more forgiving and practical for getting serviced... I also didn’t want a jap bike… If you think we don't have crap for after market speed triples are even worse…. They have there share problems as well especially with the front brake. Triumph is pretty good about not giving a franchise unless the mechanics working on the bikes are factory trained… I have a 9 now but I know in a year I will want a bigger bike.. XB12Ss or speed triple is a big delimma..MSRP is 9999... Power sports in Tennessee sells them at 8800 new... That’s a lot of bike for the money... I looked at the cornering bike article the Fire bolt was #1 and lightning was #8 triple was like in 40’s… Which surprised me because their street cred is they are really good on the twisties… There are a lot of pro’s and cons for both bikes…. Can’t wait for 2007 to see comes out for Buell and triumph… Once a Marine always a Marine!

Take the new 675 Daytona Triumph 3 lunger for a spin. That bike is really sweet but i still would rather have my 12R. |

I agree with Olin- they are too similar and one would become the favorite while the other would gather dust! Multiple bikes would be great, but if you already have a streetfighter/hooligan bike why not look at a sport touring bike or a cruiser? |

My best friend just bought a new speed triple. That thing is sweet. Makes power everywhere and is really comfy to ride. I also love that Single Sided Swing Arm. At $9999 it is a great bargain. |

If I could, I'd have a Daytona 675 sharing the garage with my 12S. I can only afford one bike however so it was a no brainer to stick with my Buell. It is by far the most versatile bike I've ever owned. But if I had the money for a sport/track dedicated joygasm, the Daytona 675 would be it. This is the earliest I've ever been late!

The speed triple makes my "short list" of bikes I'd own if funds were available. If you can afford it....why not? George Barber lives by that credo. On freakin' Ice Cream money! I'd rather sweat than bleed, wouldn't you? White is definitely the FASTEST color Buell.

Here's what's in my garage right now: '03 XB9S, '04 Yamaha FJR1300, '05 Yamaha FZ6, '04 Kawasaki ZX-6R (636), and an '05 Ninja 250. Ya think I'm a little compulsive? The Speed Triple is talking to me in my sleep. LOL |

I guess I took it out of context too (see my reply?) - I still don't get it. |
