BadWeb Team For a 2003 XB9S which lamp is the low beam, right(curbside) or left (based on rider normal seated position). When low beam switch setting is selected the left lamp is lit but seems to direct light our like a high beam. When I pull the headlight trigger switch the right lamp lights and directs the light down like a low beam. I am wondering if someone has reversed the connectors to the high and low beam. Any thoughts. Thanks Wayne |

They're wrong, the low beam is on the right. I am fully aware of this since the low beam on mine has melted the plastic lens. |

I agree with old man. unless somebody changed the wiring the original factory settings would be: sitting on your seat, looking down: right low beam left high beam |

Thanks BadWeb Team for confirming it is backwards. I will trace the wires back. Hopefully just the connectors are on backwards. Thanks again Wayne |

hmmm, did u rewire them or did somebody you got the bike from? cause there's only one wire harness that only plugs in one way. unless it's in the switch itself... |

Duff24 I talked to previous owner who had tried to set up headlights so both would light together. (sounds like he set them up in parallel circuit that did light both lamps but to lower intensity - not a good solution) He modified harness pigtail (from main harness connector to headlamps). He purchased replacement factory pigtail and replaced it before selling bike. It sounds like he just reversed the high and low beam connections at the lamps when putting the new harness connector in. I will pull apart this weekend to hopefully correct. Thanks Wayne |
