In the pic I'm pointing to a little rubber grommet/washer.
I recently replaced the collar next to my finger and I'm wondering if this is normal.
The washer is all loose is it supposed o be like that?
I don't remember seeing it when i replaced the collar so I'm HOPING its not supposed to be on the INSIDE.

I think it is supposed to be pushed tight against the shaft seal in the primary. I looked at a new Buell and it was snug. Maybe the heat causes it to expand and move away a bit.

I used a touch of high temp silicone to put it back where it belongs as I figured it is protection for the shaft seal.

Either that or the factory got a great deal on a bunch of rubber rings and that was the only place they could find to use them.
