a couple times while scootin' around some twisties (on the xb12scg) i've had the pedals give the ground a nice scrape. is there any way to get the pedals up a little more for some more clearance? granted, i do have an scg, and I'm a big guy (6'3") so that makes the clearance less than the regular models right there, but i'm trying to find a more cost effective method rather than buying a new rear shock and front fork. with the firebolt rearsets bolt up easily?

TIA

Get Firebolt R foot pegs, they are 1" taller than the S pegs.

yup, bolt right on, i installed R pegs on my S soon after she was home.

i believe the 'rearset' portion bolted to the frame is exactly the same from R to S. its just the pegs that are different height. 1" difference as 1stbuell mentions.

No need for new rear sets, just get the pegs.

It's a very easy install. I ride with "S" pegs on the street and put on the "R" pegs at the track.

Neema, then why did you buy a 12scg then? If you are having problems with lean angle a cg isn't the way to go, especially for a guy who's 6'3'' tall.

Take the peg feelers off......

...trust me.

If you are still draggin' peg, too fast for the street.(in my opinion)

you can easily drag the pegs even without feelers on an scg, the higher R pegs are a must.

i know, i know... i bought it because it looked great, and when i went for a test ride, it fit me REALLY well. also, it was the last of the 05's around my area and summer was just starting. i don't feel cramped at all, the only problem is that when i'm riding on the streets, the shortened ride height takes its toll and i'm thoroughly jostled (and the tires are skipping all over the place through corners... feels really scary)... so i just wanted to see if i could eliminate one of the problems for now.

p.s. anyone interested in some scg suspension hardware?? : ) seems like its either that, or selling it and getting another bike.

thanks for the help~!}

Use some body english. Get your butt off the seat, and your knee out.
