I dug up my old Napoleons (rubber inside the bars) and they have plastic flat pieces that are supposed to flush up to the ends of the bars to stabilize them. Then I noticed the throttle appears to be pinned in position so I can't simply slide them further up the bar to get them to flush up. If you have Napoleons, how did you solve this?

Kurt, I'm a a big Napoleon fan and have them on all the Buells. Trim the end of the plastic throttle sleeve (the one that's under the right grip.)

After trimming the hard plastic sleeve you'll need to do some razorblade work on the grip. Using a Dremel, or some other rotary cutter, makes this a 3 minute job.

I rate it at 1 hammer.

Thanks! Have traction grips on order, will scope them out for suitability for cutting when they get here.

With the Traction grips you'll have a little more to trim off. They have a closed end. Still it's an easy fix.

I froze the grips and hacksawed right along the line that goes around the ends of the grips. Looks a little grim due to a somewhat ragged 1/16" gap (which I planned to avoid any possibility of the grip rubbing the mirrors). Sure beats out the results of cutting the double-walled old GT grips (where the outside wall would squirm around the inside wall after the cut). Didn't feel like going through all the adjusting foofooraw described in the manual and reasoned that all Buell throttle sleeves should be the same, so popped the old one out and the new one in without messing with the adjusters. Thanks all for your help!
