Okay so i know there was a thread that shows the under the seat heat sheild, but i can't find it. I own an XB12Scg and what i want to know is what can i do about the frame burning my thighs off. I am really short so my leg is very close to the bike and when i come to a stop on a hot day with the fan going for a while my leg is burning. Now only one leg can touch the ground so that is how close i am to the frame. Any suggestions??? | ||

Please keep in mind that when you keep heat from going one way, it is retained another way. Another way that may be detrimental to the longevity of your investment. I'm not saying that the products offered by the sponsors are no good, just be careful what you put on your bike. Remember, it is an air cooled motor, and retaining heat in the engine cavity could prove damaging, if not catastrophic. Chris | ||

Just got two heat barriers from Odie/Special Ops.. Underseat and intake barrier very good quality.. Big Big Big Diference....I've only had it two days now... I hated my seat before but I think alot of the problem was the heat coming up.. My seat feels much much better now... This should be the first thing some one adds to their buell.. | ||

I have Odies Heat Barriers, both the under seat & under Airbox models. They work really well deflecting heat away. If its the frame area you are trying to insulate try the Gripsters. They are primarily for gripping your thighs into when riding aggressively but they also function very well at heat insulation. They also offer some additional protection to the frame. They are also fully removable & able to be reapplied at will, storing them on waxed paper. Cheers Murdoch  | ||

I'm into VW's I have a good Heat barrier on my fire wall and on the inside of my deck lid.. The heat instead of getting absorbed gets moved out creating a cooler environment for the motor... Everything is open on a motor cycle the heat will escape else ware instead of being absorbed into the seat or intake.. Were not talking about some thick foam it more of a cloth...Great Stuff | ||

I do but there not a sponsor so you can imagine what the response to that would be. PM me & I`ll give you the info. The kit also comes with inserts to go on the side of the tank/outer airbox but I didn't use these............. There is a few different finishes available.....even clear........pretty inexpensive as well. Cheers Murdoch | ||
