with all the talk of a "right side air scoop" i was wondering if anyone new that Trojan has a very nice set on there website (under "new items")and are left and right sides. has anyone tried them yet? they look sweet and are priced nicely. just surprised they have not been mentioned. (is that a bad thing?) i ordered a set about 2-3 weeks ago. i should have a set any day now as they were shipped last week.(may 6th) and take roughly 9 days to get to me.(technically they should be at my house when i go home.) i will post pic's once rec'd. and installed. i've ordered from them numerous times and they have real quality items. this was a reason i ordered them before they have been mentioned & tested by someone else. maybe i am the "tester" for this product.

Eric, I ordered a set for my 12R 2 or 3 weeks ago myself... I took the pics from the website and went out in the garage and hmmmm, those look like they would look good... Let us know how you like them and pics... My bike is going in the shop for a few days so when I get them I've got to wait... : (

these look cool - how much did they charge to paint them??
they also seem to be less of a funnel - doesn't this mean less cold air being directed at the front cylinder??
.... am thinking might be good for a rear cylinder if trojan will sell them in singles too...

they do not come painted. you must do that yourself. they are "low profile" and they actually flow "more" air than the stock set-up. i will post some good pictures when i get them painted and installed.

Actually if you look under the description it says they can paint them for you.

If you want them painted to match any of the stock Buell body colours the price is GBP40 (US$70 approx). This is the price we get charged for this service and we don't pass any extra cost on.

It does add to the order time if you want them painted though.

they arrived today but i missed the postman. i will go to the post office after work and get them. will install and get some good pictures also. i think i will go and get some grey touch up paint at the buell dealership so i can also get them the same color as the frame. should look pretty sweet.

Eric, I was planning on painting mine black myself... I got some bumper black paint someone suggested, I had also heard you could use the paint that used on bar-b-q grills... Either way, lets see some pics... : )

Plasticote makes a black that is a very nice match for the Buell black plastic.

I have used both the Plasticote satin black and barbeque paint, both with good results. Because of the location above the header I tend to favour the BBQ paint personally, which is what I used on the one shown below.

i think i will go with the DFI silicone header wrap paint. i used it on my jardine muffler with excellent results. good and hard paint.(i also baked it in an oven after) has not chipped at all yet and has been on there for 3 months.(not a ton of ridding on it though) i wont be putting these in the oven but hopefully it will last a while. i may be able to get some pictures up by tonight. i'm leaving work early to go to post office and pick the package i missed yesterday up. will prime/paint and install when i get home.

trogan,
where did you get the exhaust heat shield? Wouldn't mind having that my self for my SX. Also my wife just got a Sportster 1200L (too inseam challenged for a Buell). She was wearing bell bottom jeans that literally caught fire from the pipe.

Yes these are in stock. Price to ship to the US would be GBP15 (US$28 approx?) The approximate retail price is US$197 per pair.

where did you get the exhaust heat shield?

Heat shield is from Crossroads Performance and they are available in 5" or 6" length.
