I tried using the search but couldn't find what I was looking for. I found a few really cool looking rear sprockets but don't know how many teeth the stock sprocket has, anyone know? (I have an 03 XB9S). If anyone has done this and knows if one brand is better than another please let me know. |

I am not sure of the tooth pattern but I will say that if I were you I would make sure that I could run a 04-06 belt. The reason is that the later belts are stronger. In fact the 05 belt is rated for 25k miles and the 06 belt is rated for the life of the bike (the 05 belt is no longer available since it was replaced with the 06 belt). |

I upgraded my 03 XB to the 04 and later belt. Was the best peace of mind I've had with the bike. Keith |

Mike, Each year of belt differs from the previous except for 04 and 05. They're the same. I think the 03's had around 60 something teeth, 04's and up are somewhere in the 70s. |

Thanks, I didn't realize you had to change the sprockets as well in order to upgrade the belt. In that case I am going to hold off and find the 06 sprockets and belt. Did you order these from an HD dealer? I have seen some of these from aftermarket companies but they are a fortune. |

Doesn't the '06 only work with the new swing arm?? |

BTW you also need the belt guards (there may be other parts) since the the new belts are wider. I know it more money but as said before the piece of mind is worth it. I would search the forum and you can find all the info on the parts you need. Later, Bart |

....and not sound like I'm selling something, but I'm selling the entire setup needed to convert the 2003 system over to the 2004-2005 system. Everything is new; rear pulley, front pulley, tensioner, upper and lower belt guards and belt. I've decided to go chain so I never even mounted this stuff. |

Pcmodeler- Which belt do you have? the new 06 version? Also are the parts all stock? I read about a setup on one of the sponsors sites with a different polished pulley in the rear for 400. I am definitely interested, let me know what you want for it. |

It's the 2004-2005 system. Essentially, it's similar to this kit: http://www.americansportbike.com/shop/media/images/product_detail/17082.jpg ....which I'm guessing is the one you're referring too. My rear pulley is the factory black (not polished). I also have the front pulley cover and the upper and lower belt guards. Essentially, everything you'd need to do the conversion. Everything is brand new. $325 plus shipping. |

I don't know if this is the 2006. The part number is G0500.1AAA. It is the Goodyear belt.
