Serves the same function as carbon-fiber heel guards - but doesn't cost you an extra $100 bucks. On the factory and aftermarket racebike bellypans, that hole isn't there. |

I put a heat shield on, it gets near as hot as the pipe because of the solid aluminum connection to the pipe. I added pipe wrap between the shield and pipe, it seems to help a little. At least you shouldn't catch your pants on fire if you touch it. |

Wrap your headers and you will most of the heat.I have mine wrapped and my fan runs about half as much as the guy's I ride with that aren't wrapped. About $35 bucks for the wrap and I used good SS clamps...Charlie |
