I recently purchased a translucent blue airbox cover to replace the white airbox cover on my '03 9R. I know it'll look a little odd, but I like the clear blue and my current airbox cover is dirty, scratched and scuffed, with the decals missing (I bought the bike used).
Now, to replace the cover, I merely have to undo the 4 screws holding the base, lift it off, add the new airbox cover, re-do the screws, and presto! Is that all there is to it? When I remove the airbox cover, will anything come flying out, or fall off that I should be aware of?
I know these questions sound dumb, but I am not mechanically inclined. I sure don't want any unpleasant surprises when I'm trying to do what seems like a very simple procedure. You should have seen how long it took me to figure out to remove the seat.

Presto indeed.
Don't lose the plastic washers that go with the screws, and don't over-tighten when you put them back in or you can crack the plastic.

Thanks for the very quick response, guys!
My confidence is restored. By the way, I already have some missing washers, lost by the previous owner, not me. I noticed them gone when I added the Buell XB tankbag straps. I'll be extra careful when tightening the screws.

I was watching that auction, looks like you got a good deal.

Oh no, Jason, I hope I didn't outbid you for it!
And you're right, it was a good deal, assuming the cover is in as good a shape as the seller claims. If so, I saved about $50 compared to a new one (including the shipping charges), and previous used translucent blue covers on eBay have sold for almost the price of a brand new one. I've already been outbid on two previous covers.
