Now I hope Stealthxb doesn't grill me for this one!! I noticed today that when I am down shifting from second to first that the tranny grinds a little unless I step really firmly down on the shift lever. Is this normal or is this a clutch or primary chain adjustment issue? It's not a huge grind, but it's definitely enough to notice. Any help? Thanks, Schmitty |

Are you blipping the throttle to match transmission and engine speeds? 1st gear seems pretty low on the XB's and if you try to mash it, it will protest. On another note it seems all my Buells like a firm decisive downshift into 1st. |

First gear likes it rough. Though be careful about what speed you are going when you downshift. I usually rev it about 500 rpm before I downshift and I dont have that problem anymore. |

Don't get too rough though, I've seen a couple of sheared bolts on the shift linkage. I wouldn't knowingly downshift into first unless I was stopped. It is a pretty short ratio to hit while moving. You should have plenty of torque to pull second if you're still rolling. |

I kept hitting false neutrals from 3rd to 4th Saturday. Has that happened to anyone else? Does it get worse? |
