Ive been fighting with tuning with my bike for a few weeks now and i just brought it in To the hd dealer.. new plugs and engine temp sensor, not poping really loud adn often but when i let off it crakles. I have the quiet core but not sure if i should put it in. Im thinking it will add more backpressure like the buell guy at hd said. Think that it will stop the poping? and will i notice better low end? my 3k range is really boggy now. |

You will not see any benefit in performance by putting in the quiet core. These are dyno charts from the Hillbilly-Motors-Motors web site that show the performance drop.
backpressure being beneficial in a motor is a pervasive myth. Keeping velocity up can be beneficial, but only in a properly designed system. (Message edited by diablobrian on May 07, 2006) |

looks like it makes really jerky power through the revs with the quiet core installed... its not really popping loud anymore... is the quiet core something i can just slip in when im going to be comming in late at night and pop out the next day without the ecm being confused or what? |

Yes, it will come in and out. I recommend a high temp grease be used on the o-ring. If you don't the core can tend to stick in the pipe. |
