I bought this air box cover for my 9S. I am wondering if I have to cut the airbox. I have a short velocity stack, a cut snorkel, a K&N air filter, Tiforce exhaust with a reloaded ECM. I don't know if it'll be better, what do you think ? |

Nice paint job! You don't have to cut the airbox, but you won't see any benefit from the airbox cover if you don't. I have the same cover and I have an open airbox on my bike. I even blocked the hole through the frame so that my rear cylinder will get more cool air, I will be plenty of intake air as proven by the new model xb's with the intake around the fuel fill. |

I haven't tested the rear head temp before and after, I just figured that without the engine drawing air out of the scoop the rear cylinder has to be getting more air flow. Purely speculative/anecdotal. |
