Just the other day I was watching the news before going to work and a biker ran into the back of a bus in the city . He was an off duty FBI agent . Turns out he rode a Black XB12s . Wonder if he was a member on Bad Weather Bikers. |

yeah this year in Iowa, it has not been a good year for bikers. Lots of irresponsible drivers. We have had at least 3-4 i know of.. and 1 just the other day that crashed into a bridge on a sharp turn, no helmet and hit the wall beneath the bridge. He was a friend of some of my other friends. Sad to see people pass when they were born in 1984 and on. I also want to point out, this accident could have been alcohol related. I hope people make smart choices. Drive Safe All.

No that guy went off the Williamsburg bridge Thursday night around 10 . This other guy hit the back of a bus and was pinned under it and later died . (Message edited by Davy_boy on May 05, 2006) |

Yes it is sad. I read about a rider getting killed in my area almost every week. It all boils down to using common sense and telling yourself 'Hey, you are on a public road with traffic and not a racetrack.' Sometimes I feel the manufacturers are partly to blame for selling street legal racing bikes to the public in the first place. A self imposed 186 mph top end limit on liter bikes is hardly a solution to the problem. Bikes take a lot more concentration to ride safely than does driving a car. I know I catch myself not paying attention sometimes when following traffic and have had to grab the brakes hard. Life is full of risks. |

Keep your head on a swivel guys. Take responsibility for your own safety. Ride like the car/truck/bus drivers are out to get you. They just may be. |
