I am trying to sneak my xb into the shop for a TPS reset following install of the race kit. problem is that the bike is my mode of transport to and from the shop. Race can is on and i'll put the K&N on in the parking lot. I'm sure someone else has done this before. SO here's the question.... Should i install the Race ecm AFTER I get to the shop, but before i hand it over to the tech? should i just hand the tech the Race ECM when they take the bike in and have him/her install it? i just dont want to get stuck paying for an extra half hour of labor for the tech to plug in a new ECM or something. Any thoughts? |

i think this is for an S, right? only reason i ask is i dont know if you can ride an R without the bolts in... - install your K&N at home - take the two bolts out holding the stock ECM in place but leave it plugged in - ride to the dealer with Race ECM in your pocket - unplug stock ECM in parking lot - plug in Race ECM - hand over your bike for the TPS reset - ride home on a stretch where you can hit 3500-3800RPM above 45mph for 10min to settle the changes - reinstall the bolts to hold the Race ECM in place - done! |

Yes, its an S. Exactly what i needed, thanks a ton, Typeone. BTW, your bike is hot. I am hoping to dye my yellow plastics black on Sunday. the yellow was kinda growing on me, but all i needed was to look at a few blacked out XBs like yours. Next project: Black powdercoated wheels, cuz keeping those silver boys clean is IMPOSSIBLE!! |
