Does anyone know if there are extended swingarms available for the XB's? I've got a '04 XB12R. Wanting to extend the back at least 4 to 6 inches. Any help would be greatly appreciated. You can email me at mhtwin987@yahoo.com. Thanks |

It would be easy to modify the chain conversion swingarm from Hal's to the length you want. |

Hal's customizes stuff and they have those swingarms built - so give them a call and they will definitely build one. 'Taint gonna be cheap. I bet if you wanted to keep the belt, there might be a way to go that route too. IF you're talking about extending the rear 4 inches though, you really ought to consider the fact that you're going to be radically changing the handling of the bike AND you're going to have a more flexible swingarm without adding bracing - though if this is a styling exercise, handling may not be an issue. Hals is really approachable and I'd bet that if you timed it right, when they were having a bunch of axle pockets machined, they could have one made to your length that wouldn't cost much more than the standard swingarm/chain conversion - it would just be welded with a little fooling with a fixture but can be done (call them!). |

Why buy one of the best handling bikes available, then modify it so it handles like $hit. |

There are many better platforms for drag racing. The XB is know for low end tourque and handling, neither make for good drag racing. The XB has some very innovative design elements that make for excellent handling. Why modify an XB to UNDO its best characteristic? |
