I have an 03 buell xb9 with a jardine pipe, race ecm, xb12 airbox, k&N. When I rev it up quick it spudders slighlty at low rpm then catches. It pops like all hell when you rev it up and let the rpms's come back down. It doesn't seem to make alot of power until 4500 rpm's and up. I did notice a small exhaust leak in the pipe that goes directly into the muffler. I wonder if that could cause this problem?

Exhaust leaks can cause popping as D pointed out. You need to seal that leak. Go the the auto parts store and ask for high temp silicon. You will need the O2 sensor safe type. Smear it in the voids and let it sit for 24 hours. It could be too lean as well. It is either too rich or too lean with a sputter like that (if you don't have any codes). My guess is too rich. You can test this idea by opening the airbox. Mine did the same thing with the race ecm until I opened the airbox up.

opened my airbox up with the open airbox kit last night, ran horrible for a few hrs cutting out all through the range then when i was on my way home it cleared up and had good power throughout and the popping went away. Im just waitin for my k&N to arrive so i can put that on hoping for a difference.

Wasn't there some discussion a few weeks ago about the Jardines popping and that it's part of the design. I know that when I let of the gas it sounds like a V8 with no pipes.

Try not cracking the throttle so hard. There's a lot of fuel at idle, to give you a better low end. So roll the throttle instead of blipping it.
