I was going to write some long witty explanation of why this and why that. but F it. I want to change the 12R clip ons to something a little less aggressive, I've seen some of the stunt cats have changed to MX style bars, who got the scoop, pros, cons, recommendations. thanks |

You can try using the Heli-bar triple clamp. It move the bars about an 1" up and about an 1.5" back. along with the lowered pegs this set up makes a world of difference. I got mine from Daves here on the site at the bad web discount price of $265.50. The best price you'll find anywhere. A bit pricey, but it's money well spent! Here's a link to the company. http://www.helibars.com/proddetail.php?prod=HC0301 |

You're still a young pup. I have the Helibar upper clamp on my 12R. Its an improvement over the stock arrangement but if I were to do it again, I'd opt instead to install the Superbike bar kit (part 9077) from Al at American Sportbike. That, together with Zero Gravity's sport touring screen is a much more comfortable platform. |

Sureyor... 16 is a bit too young, search my post, girls have never been much of an issue LOL. the the truth of the matter is I traverse one of the most dangerous stretches of LA. I have a brisk 7 mile run through the Asian Gauntlet known as the San Gabriel Valley , Specifically Alhambra. I just think a more heads up position would be more advantageous during my daily dog fights with the new but less improved Zeros. |

I thought there was a superbike bar conversion for the R's? Maybe one of the sponsors - American Sport Bike of Trojan Horse? It would be like riding an S with a fairing! The only way these old bones would get on one! |

Flick... Check out Jon_s' post about three up from this one about the superbike bar conversion... I have an R and have thought about a more upright position as well. |
