A little confused. I just had the XB in for service yesterday, and the bike was checked out, and still under warranty. Well, I put the new pegs, and stuff on, and was checking the rear brake light switch after adjusting the throw of the rear lever. For grins, I checked the front, and nada. I didn't do anything to the front, so I have no idea if something happened after they serviced it, like at the wash rack, or if the connector is loose, etc. All I know is now I have to go back in tomorrow to have it looked at, and if they don't have the switch, they may hold the bike over until they get it in. Safety issue.

Also, While I am on the subject, a while back, my bike got tipped over in a parking lot. Thank God for the bar ends, otherwise, it prolly would have been big bucks. Anyway, to make a long story short, now there is asphalt inside, where the allen head goes. IS there any way to soften that stuff up and clean it out of there? So I can get an allen head in there?

Anyway, I am kind of bumming. Got everything installed, and adjusted, and really want to ride, and now I am sitting here thinking about one stinking safety issue. 500 for tires and service, and 250 in parts. WTF?!?

do you know that it was working before you took it in for service? i think that it is unlikely that the problem happened at the dealer. a lot of dealer bashing goes on that seems unfounded. either way, it would be an easy fix for them.

take an awl or a pick and you'll be able to clean the head of the bolt out with a little work.

No, I can't say that it was. Didn't check it in the morning, since it was too early for me to think. Not so much that it isn't working, but that it should be is why I am pissed. I just dropped major bread on it, and was hoping to get it back up after a couple of months of riding only the hog. Put the new parts I ordered on, got it all adjusted, and flunked the safety check.

Then when I called them, they said that I had to wait until tomorrow morning to bring it in for them to look at it. 750 bux parts and labor, new tires, bike fully tweaked, and one little switch has me grounded. It's not really that I couldn't ride it. It's that I know I shouldn't until it's 100 percent. IF my Harley did this to me I would scream at it. I don't know what to say to the Buell. I am a little confused.

Went to the dealer. Out of stock. Ordered. Jumpered with a paper clip. Wiring is good. Tried contact cleaner. It is intermittent.

Met up with some guy who also rides a 12. We rode back up north together for a bit. Matching black XBs, his a CG. Told me about Thursday night bike night down south. Am going next week to check it out.

My XB9R front brake switch wasn't working. So I ordered a new switch. Well, while waiting for the switch to arrive, I sprayed the inside of the switch with WD40 and it has been working ever since. Still have the new switch.

I may have some wD around here. Tried contact cleaner. It didn't work. I'll give that a shot.
