well paying stong attention to my idol, I am only revving about 900 rpm's when parkets. So the bike shakes allot. Now I assume I need to crank over the idol screw to get the rpms at about 1000-1100rpms, correct? if so... all I need to do is crank the idol screw some? Do I leave the bike on while doing it? Thanks for helping me understand. just dont want to messing anything up |

I do it while the bike is on. Sitting on the bike your should be able to reach with your left hand and find it. you might have to look at it first, off the bike, then do it. but i assume you could do it off the bike...Bradley |

It should not take very much of a turn, we are talk less then 1/2, to bring the revs up. |

to echo Diablobrian.. . only very slight adjustments are needed to set the idle speed. turn the screw in tiny increments with the bike running and FULLY warmed up. if the idle hangs around 2000RPM when coming to a stop after you've made your adjustments you've set it too high. |

I set mine at 1050 using the TechnoResearch software's tach. I found that it jumps around by 100rpm pretty much, so if you set it at 1050, you can have it jumping UP to 1050, or falling down to 1050. I first set it too low, and the bike would die when I first started it. I bumped the idle up just a hair (maybe a 16th of a turn on the adjuster) and the bike idles fine when cold now, and seems to be sitting right at 1000-1100 on the tach when hot. |
