Firstly, let me say that I feel bad about riding the wife’s new 06 CityX before she’s had a chance too, but after reading through the MotoMan break-in procedure, she asked if I would take it out for it’s first ride – she wants to have the chance to get used to the new bike without having to worry about riding it a certain way (loading the engine). So, I rode her bike in to work today – traffic is light being that it’s Good Friday so I was able to stretch it out a little. Wow – what a bike. Okay, I took a CityX for a test ride a couple of weeks back at a dealer demo, but it wasn’t really the same experience. I really like this engine. And the bike is so smooth. I used to wonder why people wished the Uly came with the 9 engine – I think I understand now. For those of you who haven’t ridden an XB9, you really should give it a try I know she’s gonna love owning and riding this bike – she made the right choice (it was between the Scg and the CityX). It’s going to be a great riding season Cheers -Jack |

Somewhat sadly, I had to trade in my city cross for an scg, due to my vertical issues.. but I really loved riding that bike.. it definitely was that extension of your body, as Erik says... I hope she loves it! I do love my 12, it's just different. |

Angel, did you try changing seats on your cityx to see if you could lower it? |

Fender, I did everything possible short of changing out the rear and front springs (even had the low seat shaved down)...I didn't want to change the bike that much from what it was designed to be. I have a 27 inch inseam, and even with 3.5 inch boot heels, it wasn't enough. So I traded for the scg and it's perfect. I'm now working on getting back the things I enjoyed most about the 9, scorpions are going on today, Dunlops suck! Traction grips and soon a louder exhaust...I never thought different tires would affect the feel of the bike so much, but they definitely do. Above everything, it's most important to me to ride and feel secure..and not fall..lol.. |

Angelwild327, It makes perfect sense why you would switch to the Scg. When I thought Cindy was set on the Scg, I had initially planned to dress it up to look more like the CityX by adding the headlight grill, hand guards, pucks and kick ash body work - I photochopped a mock up and it would have looked cool . I'm glad to hear the Scg is working out for you 99BuellX1 - that's a great picture <-- not that I'm condoning this sort of thing Cheers -Jack |

ok - tried KV, and search using motoman, motorman, break in procedures - everything I could think of, but I couldn't find a link to a clearly written up version of exactly whats involved in the motoman break in. My bike should be coming in within the next couple of weeks, and I'm quite interested in this - can someone please post me a link to the correct thread. tia chris aka ulendo |

When they get real hot, they turn really cool colors! I'll try to get a good picture of them. |

The cool colors I get, two different cool colors is what suprised me! If the front was blue at the top bend, but both were reddish down closer to the can, then I would understand... |

Took a picture yesterday. They're silver, blue, purple, red, gold, all the way down to into the collector. Sweet. |

Is the XB9 engine smoother or something... why do people wish the Uly had a 9 option? |

99buellx1, Have you done any mods? Those colors look like excessive heating to me. |

On my 12 I had the traditional blue at the top, but golden after the bend. Then when I installed the race kit the colors looked similar to the above, though perhaps slightly less dramatic. Ran fine though, and the dealer tech claimed it was because the race ECM actually results in some fuel burn occurring in the header. Don't get why the two pipes would be different though. |

Yep, but trust me it's running perfect. That's just what you get from doing a HUGE multi gear burnout that gets the fire department called because people think the building is on fire! haha.......damn that was funny. |

Boot heels still dont change the length of your leg to the toe. I was barely able to tippy toe touch on the stock CityX seat with my 29" inseam. Before I bought the Trojan seat I have, I had to talk to them to verify I would be able to comfortably touch. At a Demo day I rode all of the XBs. The 2 things I discovered were 1. The CityX comes with the best Stock tires 2. I like a race kitted 9 better than a stock 12. 99buellx1, your one headlight is out
