I just put a Jardine on a XB9R, left the stock air filter and ecu. After letting the AFV work it self out, I am pretty happy overall. There are no pops on decel, and no discernable holes in the power delivery. It might have lost a little umph on the bottom, but it is not like it had any to start with. For pure meat quality, it sounds damn good. I was going to ride this way for a couple thousand miles and then pull the plugs to check overall mixture. I was wondering if anyone else has been running a similar configuration and the long term results. John |

Yeah i put the jardine on my 9s and have been really happy with it. I probably put 8-10 thousand miles on it and it's holding up like a champ! Only complaint is the two fairing brackets that I've broken twice, so I'm leaving them off now. Actually I know 3 guys with a 9s and one with a 12r having the popping at deceleration, well I guess everybody I know with a jardine has the same occurrence. Tried the TFI without much luck. Thought I had it dialed in because the power at the midrange was great but I was getting horrible gas mileage (hence the power - add more gas, duh). Then I took it to the dealership to put it on the dyno and the tech couldn't even figure it out, and he told me they went to school for those type of programmers!! I have a Jardine on my 12R, I love it. It does pop on decel, its not as bad now with the race ecm and filter, but it still does it above 4,000 rpm. It still sounds awesome though! |

When you guys mean "popping"... are you saying back fire when decelerating? If so, I get this sometimes coming towards a stop also. Is this not normal? I was told it was harley,, so yep its normal. lol |

XB9R with the Jardine with a stock air filter (12R air box though) and race ECM. Big time popping on decel. |

I think its kinda cool when coming up on a red light on a 2 laner and the popping is startling all the 4 wheelers in the next lane. Whats even cooler is when I creep up on the dumb a$$ that just cut me off and never saw me and I whack the throttle about 3 feet from their window! |

For you guys with popping, are you getting any leakage where your header goes into the bend? I coated the header with high temp rtv before installing bend. Mine is totally sealed, no leakage. I did this because of experience with other bikes. You have any exhaust leakage pre-muffler and you usually get popping. Just an observation.... John |

jardine will pop due to freer flowing gas, weakens the mixture slightly compared to the buell cans, ecu will compensate to a point, had mine checked on a dyno with race ecm modded airbox and jardine, was found to be very weak mixture, had to adjust the tfi well off the recomended dobeck settings. no exhaust header leaks at all |

I have a jardine on my 03 9s. Ran it totally stock for about 1500 miles, and it didn't pop at all. Then I added the race ecm and filter, now it pops quite a bit. At first I didn't like it, but I got used to it. Have added the 12 airbox and gutted the rubber snorkel. Happy now! I left the fairing off from the start, pipe has held up well, about 3000 miles on it. have to hit it up with some mothers to get that new shine again, but for the price, great product. Love that rip also! |
