I have just recently noticed that my exhaust pipes turn red hot when i let my xb9s idle for only one minutes. Could this be an issue with the ignition module or ECM as i have the race kit from Buell? Could the air and fuel mixture be to rich? Have any of you experienced this and is there a fix or do i have to purchase new modules. |

Are you talking about daylight, or in the dark of a garage or at night? They all glow red, but usually not visible except when it is dark. If it is visibly red during daylight from idling then there is a problem. |

I noticed the same thing with my new 05 stock XB12S. There is a lengthy post on the issue linked below. There was no real group consensus on the issue, in that it wasn't hard to find people who suggested it wasn't good. However, I did find others who confirmed that in very low light situations the headers glow when the bike is left to idle. If your bike seems to run normally and your glowing headers are only visible at night, you may be in the same boat as me. If that's the case it seems that this may be a normal thing that's simply not commonly noticed. You should have some Q&A with some people more in the know than myself, but rest assured you are not alone! FWIW when I first noticed mine glowing headers in the garage at night, I almost crapped my pants http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/3842/185315.html?1144778075 |

in very low light levels, it's not uncommon for Buell headers (tubers and XBs)to appear red -- it's simply an artifact of the material they are made of, and not something to worry about |

What a relief! That day in my garage I was about to put a tarp on it, as I was looking down, I saw this glowing header right by my knee. Could you imagine if the damn tarp caught fire and had melted to my XB... When ever I need a light for my cigarette I know where to find one. Thanks guys for the assurance |
