Hey guys, how hard and whats the process to remove the headers so they can be wrapped. Is this something the average slightly incompetent guy can handle or should i not even think about it.Also, how much wrap do i need for xb9s, is 50 feet enough? Thanks.

If you want to take the headers off, the service manual explains it well.

If you just want to wrap them, that can be done quite easily with the headers on. I did mine that way ( and I believe quite a few others have) and it was easy. The rear one takes a little work to get it started close enough to the cylinder, but after that no problems. All I did was take my muffler off to make it easier toward the end. I used 2 inch wrap with a 1 inch overlap - 50ft was plenty.

How are you guys painting it with it on the bike? Does the wrap have to be coated all the way around with the black paint or is it just for aestheatics, cant spell.

I put aluminum foil where I don't want paint, and spray away.
It actually helps the wrap's life span, so get as much of it as you can, it's not hard at all.
It also looks better.
