So i was out riding and my check engine light came on. It went on and off a few times...even flashed while i was riding home....I will check for the codes tommorrow....my oil was a bit low so i topped that off..Anyone else have these issues...my idle was all over the place and the fan kept coming on too |

Check the connections on your battery first along with any others you can find to make certain their tight. Without knowing what code it's sending this is hard to say. |

I agree, that without knowing the code, everyone is just pissing in the wind. There are multiple sensors or short wires that could cause this. |

ok codes are:13 for oxygen sensor and 14 for engine temp sensor....idle was up and down.... bike never stalled....Current setup is 03 xb9s with k&N filter, race ecm, d&D exhaust.Has 5300 miles on it. I cut i few intakes into the inner and outer airbox to get more airflow...these problems didn't start until after i cut the airbox...Oil was low so i added a few ounces....now what do you guys think? |

I was thinking O2 sensor, if it is reading wierd it can make the bike run hot, which could make the fan run....etc. I would check the wires and connection to the sensor, and if it is still acting up check or replace it. |

You have nothing to lose by doing this so try it: Remove the negative battery terminal, then the positive battery terminal. Touch them together then put on the positive terminal then the negative terminal. Take it for a ride and let us know if it made a differance . |

i think the bike got hot because the oil was low........i topped the oil off and rode it today and all seems fine...i did pick up a new 02 sensor in case the code comes back......just curious what does touch the 2 battery connections together do?? |

Check ECM wire bundle routing as well. |
