No it's not a crash No it's not having sex with a hairy guy in the woods of Tennessee No it's not driving on 95 in South Florida, well ok may be two bad experiences. No i'm talking about trying to find parts for a Buell in south FL. 2 dealers let go the Buell line and the other one in Pompano carries oil filter and oil and that's about it... what is wrong with these people... no wonder Buell will never be as popular as other sportbikes with the way the dealers treat their customers...well,ok there is not to many curves in FL. but at least they should try to help.... So i got back with oil and filter and that's it.I'm driving back to Canada and i will buy my stuff on Ebay. |

Just call DaveS at Appleton HD. He can hook you up with anything. No need to even think about it. Just do it. |

I've gotta agree with the comment about the dealers. While researching a Buell, I went to several dealers, including one that had a Buell sign out front. None of them sold Buells any more. I guess they took too much floor space away from the big ticket bikes... It'll be hard for Buell to ever become a big player without a better dealer network. |

They need to get them OUT of the Harley dealerships and into their own branded dealerships. Barring that, in a multi-brand dealership that sells Ducatis, Aprilias and the like. As long as they share floor space with Harleys they are going to languish. |

The dealer I bought my buell at sent me a letter 2 months afterwards stating they are no longer selling or repairing the bikes. Atleast I got mine out of them. I use Dave for all my parts now and will be going to NJ for servicing... |

Where in FL are you? Ft. Myers Harley is very good, so is Fletchers in St. Pete. On the East coast, any of the Rossmeyer shops are pretty good too, with the Pompano Beach shop being best for Buells. (Message edited by bueller69 on April 07, 2006) |

While I don't think they should not put Buell in HD dealers that want and try to work with them. I do believe that in areas that no HD dealer carries them (within a certain sq. mile area) they should allow multi type dealers that want to carry them do so. |

i very much resent that remark about tennessee. trust me if i could id in WI yesterday. Hals called me the other day for a part number. where my dad drives to WI every week and gets the parts for ours bike, they know how pationant (sp?) i am and made the comment that if i lived there i could try to get a part time job in parts. haha thats my ultimate wet dream. especially since i don't have a job now. as far as the dealers. my closest dealer Buell is 4 hrs away. the 2 closest hd dealers dropped buell but thanks to that i got my bike at a reduced price. |

I have to agree with the comment above. I would love to see the Buells in a show room with Triumphs and Apillias in my area. They are the most out of range products in the York Pa area. |

The original post IS about the Rossmeyer shops, Pompano in particular (he has only 2 Buell locations in Florida BTW, Pompano Beach and Destination Daytona). Oil and filters is about right, last time I was there, the Buell parts guy and Buell friendly Service manager were gone and 2 morons/techs had a tuber jacked up by the muffler, yeah, I can see where that might be the best place for Buells, if you never needed service or repairs or parts or accessories. |

I'm not happy with Rossmeyers either. I'm in the process of filing an ADA title 3 complaint against them. No disabled parking during bike week. Not just wrong, Illegal. Even if the local cops are "too busy" to enforce ADA regulations during bike week. Their Parking guys also gave me a huge amount of attitude. |

I can't resist... Outside the woods of Tennessee, or with a bare-skinned man, would it have been any better? "no wonder Buell will never be as popular as other sportbikes with the way the dealers treat their customers" It would be unthinkable for instance that the Buell Lightning is outselling Ducati's comparable (1000cc) air-cooled Monsters or that the Ulysses is outselling the Multistrada. Maybe not. How many air-cooled sport bikes does BMW sell compared to Buell I wonder? Some sport bike dealerships are lacking in their parts and service and customer support. Not sure that is a trait specific to Buell dealerships. Probably not very fair to overgeneralize on the issue in any direction. I certainly understand your frustration though. Did you bring up the issue with the management or even owners there? |

TWO OF THE MOST DANGEROUS THINGS IN THE WORLD: 1. A HARLEY-DAVIDSON "TECHNICIAN" working on BUELL !!! 2. A HARLEY-DAVIDSON "ORINENTATED" PERSON giving advise on a BUELL ... |

Of interest, with only two Buell dealers left in the Metro Milwaukee area, it appears the Japanese brands have a leg up in HDI's back yard. It gets even worse when you tally up the dealers in Wisconsin. Good thing for me that Hal's is only a few miles from the house. Heck, I have pushed bikes farther than that just for gas. LOL |

I've just purchased some parts that i was missing from St-Paul Harley Davidson and Buell,I've bought some from them on Ebay before and was very pleased with communication and fast shipping. And for the Tennessee part,i was just joking,i'm going riding there in may for a week, but i was not joking about the driving in South Florida... I've bought a damaged Buell XB12R at the wreck car auction and it already has a Race kit from Buell, does it make a big difference compare to stock powerwise and where. Does anyone ever tried the Dunlop Qualifiers on their bikes? any feedback. i had a XB9R before and i thought it was lacking power but the tires(michelin Pilot Power) were great. |

Windaddiction, I have ordered from DaveS, no duties need paying, just GST and customs brokerage fee that is dependent on courier (FedEx is cheapest, UPS most expensive). Just try to order everything you need at once, so you only pay the brokerage fee once. |

Outrider, I wouldn't really count House of Harley a Buell dealer. They stock next to nuthin'. But like you, I'm lucky to have Hals 6 miles away. Or I'd be going up to Appleton for parts and bikes. Racine HD is also very Buell Friendly. Dunno about Suburban. Never been there. Uke's ain't half bad either. But I certainly wouldn't trust anyone but Hals for the service work I don't do myself. |

My bike is currently going under the knife at Suburban, and "Johnny Buell" is taking good care of me, though it took a week for them to look at it (which seems the norm). Suburban has a truck to pick your bike up when it won't start, Hal's makes you use a towing service. |

Here are four websites: http://www.nassaucountyharleydavidson.com/ http://www.nrhd.com/ http://www.hdofdanbury.com/ http://www.nycharleydavidson.com/ Visit each one quickly and tell me which one is the Buell dealership. Give up? They ALL are, but the only one that seems to actually ADVERTISE that they sell Buells is Danbury; the others make it very difficult (if not IMPOSSIBLE) to tell that they also sell Buells. As long as Harley dealerships treat the Buell brand that way, they are doomed to poor sales. That's why I say you have to get them out from under Harley's shadow if you want them to sell. |

Jaimec: New York City H-D is not a BUELL Dealer, "BUT" the Long Island store is !!! THE ONLY WAY TO FIND OUT THE EASY WAY IS TO BELONG TO "NATIONAL BRAG" which sends each member a ATLAS with this INFO in it ... VERY FEW HARLEY-DAVIDSON Dealers that sell "BUELLs" want you to know that they are indeed "BUELL Dealers" and their web sites REFLECT THIS !!! (Message edited by buellistic on April 09, 2006) |

But don't you find it the least misleading to use Buell's website to search for a dealer, and when you get a link to a website, that website doesn't mention Buell at all? I bought my Lightning Long in Bellmore, but I order all of my accessories and such from Danbury. On nice Saturdays, I'll even ride the 80 miles to their dealership. I'll support those dealers that support me. I had hopes Bellmore would shape up, but there isn't a visible Buell logo anywhere outside their property. If I'm passing by, how am I supposed to know they sell Buells?? At least New Rochelle had a small Buell logo outside their dealership. I haven't seen the Long Island City dealership so I don't know anything about them in that regard. |

The web Buell web site dealer list was not accurate last time I looked through it. With the changes in the network in the last year or so it had to be hard to keep up. Last year's atlas would not be accurate either. You can't even be sure a dealer with a Buell sign on the building is still a Buell dealer. To be sure you're going to have to call the dealer in question. |

2 weeks ago I called at 9:15am, told them "my bike left me stranded last night, it is sitting in a parking lot and is blowing ign fuses. It is under warranty and I am a Brag member." The guy replies "we don't have a truck, you can use so-and-so's towing, here is the number, you probably won't get reimbursed, we are already full today, don't know when we can look at it." BTW, those aren't exact words, just the meat of the call. |

Steve_MacKay...I was referring to Hal's and Suburban. Perhaps I should have said "my house (or home)." I used House of Harley once for the X1 and they will never touch a bike of mine again. Good thing I have options, eh? No experience with Suburban, and Racine as they are simply too far away, but glad to have the positive feedback in case of an emergency. Hal's and All-Pro Motorsports (Mark Hanrahan only) are the only people that I allow to work on either my Buell or Harley. Other than that, I like to support Dave at Appleton HD/BMC in return for his excellence in supporting Bueller's in-need everywhere. |

Suburban is not "Metro-Milwaukee", but then technically neither is Hal's as neither are in Milwaukee county. So, Milwaukee, home of Harley-Davidson, has no authorized Buell dealerships that I know of. |

Brothers of the Buellhood, I own (2) BMWs and am thinking of selling one to get the Ss, but all this negativity is scaring me. Don't be SCURRED! you say. The HD/Buell dealership here did not exactly overwhelm my confidence when I asked questions about the Buell. In fact, the salesman said I knew more than him (ok he's a salesman), and I only know what I've researched on the net. The one saving hope it seems, if one does run into trouble, this site is an awesome wealth of information. |

L -- check with the folks local to you in the Storm Fronts area of Badweb -- you'll get the straight skinny on local dealers talking to the sales guy is certainly useful -- ask to talk to the Buell Tech, the one that's trained on Buells -- if they don't have one, find another dealership ymmv |

Just buy the Buell, here's a quick insight into my last few purchases: 2000 M2 Cyclone, shock recall at time of purchase= $1000.00 deduction. 2003 XB9R NO warranty claims. 2004 XB12R NO warranty claims. 2004 Blast NO warranty claims (replaced carb rubber manifold out of pocket -$10.00) All out of warranty now, just routine maint. |
