Hey everyone... anyone ever change a shift lever on a XB12S or another bike that uses the same part? I have an 04... Ok... So i got the part from Harley of Rahway, NJ but it didn't come with bearings (I had no idea they were actually separate). Did anyone ever pop the bearings out of an old shift lever... and if you did do you have any tips/tricks to do this? Also, I was told I need to sets of bearings... is there also a sleeve that goes in the pivot hole... or is it just 2 sets of bearings? OK... one more question, anyone have the part number of the bearings? If you can help, thank you thank you thank you. (Message edited by acab on April 07, 2006) |

They aren't bearings. They are little plastic sleeve jobby looking things. they should've come with the shifter. You can reuse your old ones if you have them. You can also reuse the metal sleeve. |

can you tell me how to get them out of the old one? the shifter didn't come with anything in that hole, some some hard plastic that lines the hole... and a slit that goes around the center of it, thanks a million |
