Our shop has put on a few race kits and have been getting some crapy numbers on the dyno latley. My buddies XB that I scanalized (re-set the TPS) Ran some good numbers. But sience then all the race kitted XB's have not shown the same improvment. So if you could tell me your numbers and what you did. Thanks, Spidey |

Spidey, 1) After installation of the kit, and resetting of the TPS, are you supposed to ride the bike around for awhile in the "closed loop" MPH and RPM range to allow the adaptive fuel value (AFV) to readjust to the new hardware? 2) How much horsepower are you down? 3) How is the driveability of the bikes themselves? Crisp? Sputters, backfires, etc? 4) Could the glitch be with the dyno, or its correction factor? |

1 we run it on the dyno for about 10 miles 2 too much we are only looking at 1 to 2 hp gains. 3 bikes ride fine 4 dyno is fine we just had it tuned a few weeks ago by dyno jet. I just need people to post there numbers and weather or not they have the jet coated pipe or rust white one. |

My bolt made 80.7 hp and 62lb ft. This was with the Latus muffler, buell race ecm and filter. The dyno operator only ran the bike up to 6900 rpm. He said that was as far as the motor needed to rev. I think I would have 2-3 more hp if he would have brought it to redline. On the same dyno , on the same day , another stock firebolt made 75 hp and 59lb ft. |

Spidey, Are you thinking something has changed? Like maybe the internal baffling/flow of the muffler, or perhaps the ECM? I felt a good 'seat of the pants' gain after factory race kitting mine. Mostly in the mid to high rpm range. I have the newer muffler with the better paint. Sorry to say I don't have any 'real' numbers as I haven't had it on a dyno yet, but I hope to soon. When I do, I'll post the numbers. Timbo |

I added the Latus can and the ECM to mine but also have no numbers.....dip still exists in the midrange but "significant" (grin-o-meter) gains on the big end. |

Yes I am the tourqe has increased by about 6 but that is still no where near what we got off the first bike we kitted. I also think it might be an ECM problem but not likley. |

Spiderman- Take a look in the "Tale Section" under "From Cruiser to Sport Bike - An XB9S Rider's Log by Keith Thrash". There you will find a dyno chart that has my bike (XB9S) with the stock and race ECMs. Ar15ls1- can you post your dyno chart? You have the exact set up I am interested in. Keith |

Sorry Scully, but I have no way to post right now. If you want I can email you the numbers at different rpms. If you do decide to go with this setup you will not be disappointed. |

The thing if correct is heading for between 85 an 90 RWHP. Dang! Too bad they cut it short. |

Very nice Blake!!! Thanks. Thats about right. I am going to have it dynod again at a local speed shop. The guy promised me that he will rev it as high as I want! I will give you these numbers for you to make a graph out of. And yes I do think if the motor would have revved to 7500 rpm, that it would have been closer to 85 hp. |

Here is a dyno chart for a latus muffler on a stock xb9r. If you can't read it, it shows stock xb9r with 75.5 HP, 61.0 Torque. With the Latus 81.5 HP and 62.5 Torque. A nice guy at Latus faxed this to me today. It appears that this was at 7500rpm. |

On a slightly unrelated topic, I was paging through the latest RoadRacing World magazine, and came across a half page add for Woodcraft (www.woodcraft-cfm.com) and noticed they have a decent collection of Buell parts advertised... Rearsets (XB9R and XB9S), ceramic hybrid bearings (wheel and engine), swingarm chain conversions, steering damper kits, motor hop up parts, chassis stiffners, clipons, etc. I know they are not a sponsor here, but it was nice to see them giving up add space for parts for the new Buells. Obviously, go to board sponsors first, but if they don't have what you need check these guys as well. Hopefully they will support this board in the future, in the meantime at least they support the brand. Bill "not affiliated with woodcraft, and totally unable to afford the bikes the parts are made to fit on" |
