Dose any one know if you can trade a uly tail with a lightning tail ? I know there are a few mods to do but has anyone done it outside of photoshop? Let me know , Later | ||

cant see why it couldnt be done. i know that an s tail will work on a uly with a few minor mods so not sure why a uly tail wouldnt work on an s except, that you might have alittle less ground clearance in turns maybe, since you would have to also put the uly foot peg mounts on it. | ||

Sub65chris - I know the folks over at Trojan Horse (http://www.trojan-horse.co.uk/) put a XB12Ss tail on a Uly. However, I don't think you could put a Uly tail on say a XB9SX (different frames). | ||

The Uly tail should bolt right on if you have an xb12ss. Other than that you are looking at fabrication work with spacers, and a grinder, or milling machine. There have been lightning and firebolt tails grafted onto Uly/lightning long frames. I have not heard of anyone completing a merge between the s/r frame and a Ulysses tail yet. | ||

No_rice - why do i need to use the uly foot pegs? It looks like they atatch at the lower frame just look the rest of the buells . I'm not for sure but it looks like I can still use my foot pegs and only mess with the frame mounts. Thanks , Does anyone have a spare uly tail?  | ||

the uly's passenger pegs come off of the front rear-sets, not from the subframe. | ||

It will not be that hard to mount city cross style rear seat pegs on the uly tail (i think) The only thing will be the leg position of the passenger and that can be adjusted with spacers or even just making a new braket to come off of my existing rider pegs. Does anyone know how much it will cost to buy the uly tail section ? I dont think there are many spare parts off of uly's up for grabs. | ||

1 Go to www.Buell.com 2 Select USA 3 Go to "Bikes and Gear" tab and Select Ulysses 4 Look at the bottom of the Ulysses screen and there is a tab "Erik Buell talks about Ulysses XB12X" click it. I talked to my dealer and had them start looking into ordering the uly tail . HOLY CRAP it will be expensive if i dont find one to buy off of someone or trade with. it might end up that I just save up and buy a uly then trade tails . Kind of a waste though . thanks that uly looks great. |
