I trying to replace my final drive pulleys and belt and can't get the nut off of the front pulley. I've tried the following: 2X4 jambed through the wheel holding it in place against the swingarm so the pulleys don't move. 1) 120 psi through an IR impact gun. Nothing. 2) 2 foot cheater bar, that I'm scared to put any more pressure on because the ratchet keeps slipping I put PB Blaster on it and tried after an hour with the impact gun, no luck. I'll try again after soaking for a couple of more hours. Anybody deal with this before? The specs are for 50ft/lbs. What the hell did the factory torque this thing at? Any input would be appreciated. |

It is left handed threads. Which way were you turning is the first question. next, maybe a little heat from a propane/butane torch may help loosen things up. |

Well, I guess that is the problem. I just checked the manual again. In the Removal section it does not say anything about reverse thread. In the assembly it mentions reverse thread in bold print. Next time I'll read assembly first, rather than removal Thanks man. |

Red loctite is used at the factory, heat is the easiest and correct way to remove any red locktited fastener.Bunch of methods and info in the KV under drivetrain/secondary drive |

I'm scared to use heat because there is a rubber seal in the end of the mainshaft. This thing is really stuck. Why do they use red locktite if they have that huge locking plate and reverse thread. That seems like some serious overkill. |

I guess beating on it with the impact in the wrong direction did not help much. |
