Anybody taking Buell up on this deal? It ends April 15th. I'm wondering what kind of rates they are offering with this deal, or if it is based primarily on credit score. My credit score is very high... I know that Suzuki and some others offer similar deals, but they put the motorcycle on a Suzuki credit card with a high rate. I'm looking to get less than 7%, or I go to my credit union and get a loan for 6%. My credit union will go 72 months at 6%. Between 6.59 and 6.85 is what this Buell link says is the deal, based on applicant's credit score. I hope that's right. My dealer was mentioning something about 5 year loans being 9.9%, but that's probably a different loan through Eaglemark Saving Bank (Harleys bank) that he get's to make money on, in the "back end", I think it's called. http://a1276.g.akamai.net/7/1276/1354/7e8687b018e190/www.buell.com/en_us/promos/ 0to0/images/main.jpg Does anyone here know what the term is on this 90 days no interest deal is? If it's a three year loan, for example, that's gonna make for some hefty payments. (Message edited by Gazoobla on March 13, 2006) |

I don't remember any term length. I can check for sure when I get back to work tomorrow if you want me to. Dave |

At least Buell was smart enough to limit that deal to 90 days. Mitsu got in a lot of trouble when they had the 0% loans with 1 year of deferred payments. I believe that Mitsu Credit went under because of it in fact. It kind of pissed me off. I had never missed a payment or short payed once in the first two years of my note and they sold my loan anyway. Oh well, at least the company they sold it to has kept me. It sucked to change because I sent a payment that should have went to Center One to Mitsu so Center One tried to charge me late fees. |

i got mine last year with that first year at 2% and then i goes up after that. i had a score of 720, and they still wanted like 13% after the first year. but i wanted it so bad i didnt care. i tried to get a better deal on it but that was all they would give me on the %, i got the bike under sticker so i guess i cant complain |

I hate when they offer low or zero interest and deferred payments. Hate it! If the bike costs around $10K, and is a depreciating asset, why wait to pay for it? Just get it over with! If you can't afford the payment for three months, you shouldn't be borrowing anyway. Waiting three months to start paying just means the value of the bike goes down for three months before the amount you owe starts to go down! Worst of all, money isn't free - there is ALWAYS interest to someone, somewhere. So, all these zero interest/deferred payments mean the price is higher to pay for the interest costs. I would MUCH prefer Buell to offer a lower price than have them subsidize my interest. That way you can pay cash if you want and are able, and still benefit from the deal - or go to your local bank and still benefit too. When I bought my SUV Ford offered zero percent interest. Turns out, you could just take a $2500 rebate instead of the zero percent - and then you end up paying less! Call it zero percent if you want, but it isn't. Someone is paying the interest and adding it to the price up front. I hate that! |

Looks like you can still go up to 72 months on the loan term. |

Thanks Dave! Perry, I'm a chimney sweep. I gross over $1,000 a day ( before expenses) starting in September, while sometimes having very little money coming in at all during the summer months (expenses continue, however). For someone like me, it matters! Then every mid-January I pay most of my bills 6 months in advance, and the cycle continues. This no interest deal may rise the price of a motorcycle slightly, but so does a commercial on TV or in a motorcycle magazine, etc... This is just another way for a manufacturer to move more biikes, and it seems Buell is just doing it in the off season, when they don't move too quick. Lucky for me, as I'm looking now. And, no rebates in lieu of no payment deal here. Just a damn good deal for anyone buying before April 15th. |

I just got my Uly this past Friday (and it's in the shop - see my "I'm not a happy camper" thread in BB&D). I had 3 options through the dealer (all on 60 month terms with Eaglemark): 1. The nothing down, no payments or interest for 90 days and the rate was like 9.5% the rest of the way. 2. 10% down and 5.34%. 3. Finance 100% including taxes, title, tags, etc. at 5.84% I took option 3 since I usually take vehicles out on a 60 month loan and pay them off early anyway. Plus I had nothing except a jacket and gloves for street riding gear. So I end up keeping all that cash to use on new gear and pay the extra $ each month for now. I had checked around with other banks, my credit union and even my insurance co (State Farm does loans now, too) and none of them could beat what I got for the term and money down. By the way, my credit score is up there - 720+ so YMMV. |

If you've got the 10% plus taxes, tags, title and etc. the second option is better, but if you would rather just put it in to the loan 1/2 a point isn't much. |

I wrote out a post but I guess I forgot to post it - so here it is again. Obviously option #2 is the best with nothing else considered. But I need gear and by going with option #3 I kept a nice chunk of change to go buy some instead of the cash being tied up in the bike. |

Sheesh, every single time I look at the XB12R, the more I want one.. I so love they style. not to mention the new promotion it has going.. I just wish my wife would just give in.. and if I could buy a bike with no money down, I would go get it, I don't care what she would say. oh well.. guess I will have to keep on with what I have.. *dreams of a XB12R with Micron, map for stock ecm, 100 RWHP, kellerman signals, euromax tail. full racing fairing, pilot power tires, corbin seat, double bubble windscreen, CRG levers.. Hydraulic clutch conversion.. Then reality snaps, and I sigh.. LOL |
