I would like pictures, stories, or just talk about these two exhausts. The choice between the two is a hard decision. As usual, this place can help a guy through decisions like this! Sound off about these if you own one!

So far, the Drummer SS has been the best money I've spent on my Buell. I was kind of disappointed with my race-kitted XB12S and started searching for different options just like you are now. After reviewing a million or so posts on the Badweb and the other forum, I ended up calling Kevin at KDFAB on the phone and the rest was history! I'd recommend a Drummer on merit of Kevin's customer service alone, not to mention the fact that the Drummer SS completely transformed my Buell into the bike of my dreams! He will make sure you are satisfied; he even talked me through the installation over the phone! The overall HP is great, but the low-end delivery is what makes Kevin's pipe so unique; you have full power from idle on up with no flat spots and no hiccups. If you are a wheelie novice, the Drummer SS takes all the work out of it--just snap open the throttle! The sound is just right as well, not so loud that you need ear plugs to ride on the highway but noticeably louder than the race can with a burbling idle that still makes me grin. Kevin's pipe is plug-and-play with the other components of the race kit (ECM and K&N) and requires no other tuning (although if he comes up with a DL map as a result of the shootout, I will buy that as well!). I can't think of any other pipe that is hand-made with the attention to detail and high quality materials as the Drummer SS. At the price Kevin is asking, it is a bargain no matter how you look at it. In case you can't tell, I love my Drummer SS!

Don't have the ss Drummer but I have just put on a "Loud" Drummer, and can say without reservation that it is as loud as a D&D,but with a different tone, better build quality, ( welds are amazing !)and power delivery is awesome.
I've been a member long enough to have sat through "this pipe does this, my pipe does that" crap, avoiding the Drummer because of it. Well I"ve owned a 9 with a 12 airbox, and fac. "racekit", a 12r with a drilled airbox, D&D, TFI, and currently owm a 12s with a drilled airbox, Drummer "loud", TFI, and "race" ecm..and this setup kicks all their asses on the sound and butt dyno! If you hear that the Drummer "SS" does this or does that BELIEVE IT!! BTW, Kevin a big THANKS to you, from Scott in Omaha, awesome pipe.

never heard a drummer for "real", but would sure like too. hope to hear most all of them when the exhaust shootout gets underway. i was having a hard time deciding on one or the other, but will have my D&D (which i have never heard one of either yet) hopefully tomorrow thanks to a fellow badwebber. deciding factor on my decision was price. got it used and had the cash, only way i could have gotten either at the moment. from what i have heard though the drummer is also worth every penny.

i cant wait till my bike sounds as mean as it looks. HURRY UP UPS GUY!!!!!

KY,
I've had the D&D for about two months now and I think it sounds great. The only other thing I've had to compare it to was the Race pipe. It sounded like poo to me(sold it), but it seemed to keep the bottom end a little better than the D&D. Below 3 Grand, the D&D isn't the greatest. The stock pipe was definitely better up to that point. Once you start to hit 3500-3600, at least with me, it really starts to get into its own. That's when I get the "hold-on-cause-it's-about- to-pull-my-arms-off" feeling. Honestly, I favor sound more than numbers. If I truly cared about those, I wouldn't have gotten a Buell. I just love the V-Twin motor. Always have. But back to the pipe. Construction and finish are great! The sound ain't too bad either! Very much a quintessential v-twin'ish sound. Not straight pipe but kinda like slip-ons on a Harley. Had to use a little exhaust sealant around the header and pipe to make sure there were no exhaust leaks but other than that, it's the BALLS! By the way, got mine from Daves. He's a great help here.

If you don't buy the Drummer SS you you will be wishin you had. It is the best thing for your Buell period. It is hand made from the raw material from end cap to end cap and it flat out works. This pipe truly rocks throughout the entire rev range. I have had three pipes on my bike (2005 City X) and I can tell you that the SS is the best. Kevin is the man too. This dude drove around for several years making adjustments to his pipe with gauges on his bike to find out what really works. I mean he knows his stuff from a practical application. You have alot of choices out there thanks to some great fabricators.......Get the Drummer SS.
