After putting on Pilot Powers My front end seems alot looser at interstate speeds. It was balanced using the bubble level. I noticed that the weight the mech put on the front is not on the same side of the wheel as before. Before it was balanced with the weight on the rotor side. Does the factory put it on the rotor side for a reason? Now it is balanced with the weight on the opposite side of the wheel. Could this being on the other side not the rotor side be possibly causing it to feeling less stable? Please note that I am purely asking if the side matters in relation to the rotor, I know the weight "position/location" can definetly change with every tire you put on. Does side matter? I just want to exhaust all possibility before I take the wheel off again and make another trip. Thanks |

The manual says to place the weight on the rotor side... I'm not certain why, but I'll bet there's a good reason . |

i'm "almost positive" the weight needs to be replaced on the SAME side as the original weight. ill check in the manual to see if there is anything on this. |

yup, what m1combat says is true. needs to go on the rotor side as per manual. i think there is a post in the kv on why this is. just cant seem to find it right now. |

Thanks!!!!! You guys are awesome! Glad I dont have to take the wheel off again, its no biggie but =less riding time I didnt have a chance today to look at the Manual, But I figured as much though when I started thinking about the rotating mass size of the rotor. Now do you think I could just move it directly across and be good to go???? Suggestions to the type of tape they use? |

I have the same problem, my wheel weights are on the left side of the rim. I would like to know peoples thoughts on placing weights somewhere on the other side of the rim near the rotor also. I don't even know why they have bike shops in Arkansas, they sure as hell can't do anything simple. |
